Today I have received the verdict about finances and about custody of my daughter. Judge considers my stbx to be able to provide for himself and is negative about him doing nothing since I have left him half a year ago. I have to pay an amount until June to support him, but after that I only have to pay for my daughter. The judge didn't go along with all his demands. I don't have to keep paying the rent for the family home. About my daughter no decision has been made yet. The judge ordered an investigation about her circumstances and about what is best for her. So I expect an advice will be given in a few months until a final decision is made. I think that is good. I am relieved  |

This looks like a pretty positive outcome for you. Perhaps there is some justice in the world. And my read on the future is that following the investigation your daughter will be returned to your care. A long term positive for her as well. Congrats...

Thanks, yes I think it is pretty good and reasonable. I expect it will turn out well for my daughter too. And maybe it is very good that the financial part and custody part are not decided at the same time. |

That is wonderful! I suspected that any judge would not be sympathetic to any man who refuses to work.

That is wonderful! I suspected that any judge would not be sympathetic to any man who refuses to work. Yes, I could tell in court that the judge didn't feel a lot of sympathy for my husband. And I am betting that you will end up with custody of your daughter. He has no way to support her. |

This is great news! I'd send a letter informing the landlord too - so he knows that it is only H responsible for the rent (here, forward).
This is really great - so glad your long wait for this portion is over.
I agree with you that it maybe is better that custody & finance are not decided on the same date.
Hoping the best for the custody decision! (Which to ME, means she would come live w/you, be mad for a while, then learn to grow from there into a young woman who is as sharp-minded & hip as her mother)

I think that this verdict doesn't change the fact that I will be still partially responsible for the rent. So when my stbx is going to be forced to move, I expect that the bill will go to me for at least half of it since stbx doesn't have any money. But there will be an end to that. Custody is next, at least there is progress! |
