Good on the woman at your gym for making herself, and her health and fitness needs a priority. She's a great role model, and she doesn't even know it. [/quote][ She is a role model for me because I saw that being a desirable woman is more than physical appearance.

I'm currently categorized as, "grossly obese," myself (damn those dietitians). And my AP dEsires nothing more than sincere human connection ((aside: his wife is larger than me and that wouldn't stop him, his heart has broken a million times over her refusals)). societal norms of beauty interfere with our perception of what men want.

wewbwb - I said "societal." An example of a "social" norm would be to not cum on an unsuspecting person.

He isn't in love with me and I'm not with him, but there is a real fondness between us. Give it time... Argh. Complexities.

And despite what a lot of women think, many men have more than one body type they find attractive; at least I do.

rhapsodee - sounds lovely. I think the affairs that work are the ones in which the expectations are set out, agreed upon and followed. If that makes sense. My AP had no plans to leave his wife in the first few years. I started on the premise that the affair was to keep my marriage in tact. But when I realized that I couldn't continue in the marriage, I was honest with my AP, and we revised the parameters, which continue to shift. I think it's when expectations on each other's parts are mismatched, or when APs aren't being clear or honest, that the problems seep in.
