Is there a reason this hasn't gone before a judge yet? In texas she would have been served. Then deposed. Then the matter would have been brought before a judge. It sounds like you've got a strong case. Does the state of Florida require you go back every month and smash your head against the unyielding rocks of her position? Medallion obviously isn't going to work here and a judge will make the decisions. What is the delay in getting it in front of one? Thanks for your questions and concerns, truly! It has not gone before a judge yet for a couple of reasons. 1) things where going to be worked out more amicably through mediation, saving time and money. That went no where . It did show my W manipulations hence, more evidence strengthening my case. 2) a second mediation. More of the same, strengthening my case, leading to a deposition. 3) Judge needed surgery, politics say he's the best judge to have and worth waiting for. Meanwhile more time for more evidence strengthening my case. 4) Hurricane Irma. Everyone's cases are now delayed by months. 5) My W. not answering subpoenas. more violations of standing court orders. Worth the wait. Lots of evidence showing ample supply of thousands of dollars monthly. 6) Now there is Contempt of court added to strengthen my case. If she is found guilty this will make most every decision regarding money and finances in my favor. I am not sure if Texas has an abundant supply of judges? Florida ( at least in our district) doesn't seem to have enough judges for the backlog of cases. I am doing my best to not say " I just want this over with". The turtle wins the race, slow and steady.

greatcoastal , she needs to spend a few days in jail to gain some respect for the courts. It makes me wonder if she fired her previous attorneys or if they fired her as a client for being such a dumbass. I received an email last night, telling me that her attorney is withdrawing from council. I'm waiting to hear what affect this will have on the court date. I'm curious to know who fired who!!! and how that's going to look on her part, going for attorney number 4!

I spoke with my attorney, the court date is set, nothing should delay it, the who fired who is unknown. Also she will get another attorney, I asked if it will be a local one? Wondering how many attorneys take on cases when they are attorney number four? My attorney said "they are available but the better ones won't represent you when your going to be attorney no. 3." It sounds like the next attorney is supposed to jump aboard the moving train and not slow things down....time will tell.

Regardless of why (sound familiar?), changing strategists at the last minute isn't very... strategic. I think it will only hurt her by being disorganized and painting herself with a stereotype that the judge has surely seen many times before. Certainly, if any request is made for an extension you should fight it vigorously, as she's had ample time to prepare by now.

The new attorney filling for a "continuance" needing time to prepare. That could delay things for more months. I'm being patient, keeping my costs extremely low, gaining more points every day as my W's tactics may be beneficial to her in the short run, but I can't imagine the judge hasn't dealt with this crap before and will not be happy about it.

If the judge is anything like the one my brother has, she will deny the continuance and hold her feet to the fire for waisting the courts time.

I imagine you've already discussed this with your attorney, but you should be pressing for interim maintenance payments so you can handle day-to-day expenses. This has dragged on far longer than anyone should be expected to get by on savings. And yeah, this request for continuance is routine; it'd have been more surprising if it wasn't requested. Hopefully, the judge will deny it, since 45 days is plenty of time to transition and she's clearly had enough time before now to prep.

I need some hopeful thoughts to cling to, without ignoring reality!

Hopefully, these stall tactics get scene as just that, more evidence to dealing with a dishonest manipulative controller. A friend suggested that once my W. was instructed not to cancel insurance, and to continue our daughters health care, she most likely told her attorney," I pay you, you work for me, and this is what I want done". No attorney is going to do things against the law, there reputation and licence is on the line, besides they have already been paid, and have plenty of other cases. Just speculation but the attorney most likely told her goodbye.

greatcoastal, there is a light at the end of the tunnel... In a twisted way, I'm curious to see how this train wreck of hers unfolds. Surely she'll get more than a verbal spanking.

greatcoastal , there is a light at the end of the tunnel... In a twisted way, I'm curious to see how this train wreck of hers unfolds. Surely she'll get more than a verbal spanking. You would think so! It does end up to be a "wait and see" game. My attorney seems confident in what the results will be. i trust what she says over most others because she works with it daily and knows the most recent about the system. Then there are other people, well intended, who tell me of there experience. Things like, ' my husband was held in contempt for so many things, for so many years, and the court didn't do anything to him, it didn't change anything." Then you find out that was many, many years ago!

Justice isn't blind, and we fool ourselves if we think it is.
