New Robert Plant. Very Going-to-Californiaesque with a nod to Stairway. very cool tune. Since you mentioned Going To California, if you haven't already heard it, there's a cool acoustic cover of Going To California done by the band Fuel. You should check it out Andi.

Beautiful post. I am putting in my pocket. Here is my other favorite "Man in the Arena" by Theodor Roosevelt. free photo uploading sitesOl Teddy. That's one of my favorite quotes of all time. I did some research on him for a leadership course I went through some years ago and that man was an impressive one. Thanks for posting. Very motivational.

you've got some good ones Andi! I like the carnal wasteland, and the Vanilla Joe. Ironically, the other guitarists name is Joe! Oh. I tend to go for bass players and drummers. And guys named Joe. What kind of music will you be playing, and what's your favorite band? ah, those damn bassists and drummers. They get all the girls! But to answer your question, mainly rock/classic rock kind of tunes. I don't really have a favorite as it totally depends on what I like at that moment. Lately I've been on a Jack Johnson kick, and while his tunes are fairly easy to play musically, they're not the best to get the crowd going. So old classics like Pink Houses by Mellencamp, some Simple Man by Skynard, but yet we do more uptempo rocking songs like The Middle by Jimmy Eat World. Lots of fun!

since it is too early in the morn for me to be creative, what would a good cover name be for E.G.B.T.S.? My band mates might not like being lumped in... you never know, but I don't want to assume for their sake! I was thinking of an acronym - Everything's Great Bar The Sex I envisage the finale number of the show to be a cover of Foreigners hit "You're As Cold As Ice" complete with the smashing of guitars, setting the drum kit on fire in the style of Keith Moon, and taking to the piano with an axe - and spurning all the groupies who are hoggin' for a root !!!!! yes, I knew what you meant. But it needs an alternate meaning. For those who don't need the whole explanation...

It will probably help accelerate our marital demise, as the W can't stand competing for my time with any outside Ventures, but I found a couple of like minded musicians and we are starting a new band. Nothing serious, but a fun cover band to jam out in local dives like I used to in years past. What I need is help in coming up with a name. I figured I'd turn to the brilliant, smart-asses of this forum for help! So, open to suggestions. And even covert references to the SM is on the table! So, whatchu got?

I took my daughter to the gun shop today and bought her graduation present. She recently got her pistol permit and in our state it is a nightmare process. She seems quite pleased with the 9 mm SW M&P Shield she picked out. And, of course, the smell of cordite and gun oil got me salivating. So, what did I choose? Perhaps a .44 magnum to go with my 20 ga. Ithaca shotgun? No. A Thompson Contender to hone my shooting skills? No. Maybe a .22 Kahr to pop those pesky woodchucks digging up my yard? No. I chose a Ruger .380 LCP. With purple grips. It's used with a laser site that has dead batteries. Why? Well, it's tiny and fits in a pocket where no one will know its there but me. Cheap - less than $250. It is a Ruger - good quality firearms. It was the gun dealer's wife's gun. She didn't like it because it kept pinching her thumb. She shoots revolvers and kept putting her thumb in the wrong place. Lastly - I like purple and I expect it will kill an assailant just as dead as a black one. Now I gotta find some batteries... Congrats on the manly purchase. I've carried the Ruger 380 LCP in some very sketchy parts of the world and it always gave me a bit of comfort. It's easily concealable and a great self defense gun. I carried one in a pocket holster, even got patted down one day and they passed right over it. Word to the wise though, it has a nasty kick, and since the handgrip is so small it's hard to control the recoil. That makes it a bit inaccurate over anything more than about 10 yards. So close in fight where you need a bit of surprise is its shining point. If you take it to the range, be prepared to have a sore wrist if you shoot any more than a couple mags through it. Regardless, it's a great gun that I hope never has to come in handy for you. And yes, pink, purple, green, black, the rounds still come out the same color... misty red! Oh, and take the laser off, if able and put it on something you can actually use it on. A laser on that will only show you where you're not hitting after it kicks the shit out of you!

Does anybody here have PTSD or C-PTSD? Part of the problem is my wife refuses or little intimacy (that I miss as much) or sex because of and until I get better but really makes C-PTSD much worse especially considering the cause. I have been going to very difficult weekly EMDR therapy for past year partly to show I am trying and I have been getting better but no difference in her interest. I think she has just been using as an excuse. I feel for anybody else going through both and you are not alone.

I was unsure how to vote on this one... we had a quick one back in May, we were having an argument and I told her I gave up. I was done. Next thing you know she was holding onto me close and we got it on. I don't think this qualifies as starfish or reset, it was more out of desperation on her part. But the last time before that was once in January...January of 2015 that is.... and prior to that once in August of 2014. So three times in three years.... but yet I'm told all I ever think about is sex!?! She's been in the states with our kids visiting family for the last month and we've had exactly the same amount of sex as if she was here!

Right after the reset, "See....... I STILL got it" - big cheese-eating grin on his face. Ick To which your reply should have been "not exactly what I was thinking, but....oh well"

Yes was in Air Force but C-PTSD is not combat related. I feel so much for veterans suffering from PTSD, flashbacks are real and as bad as you have ever heard. I have dozens a day because triggers are constant and been in weekly emdr therapy for a year and they are not stopping but am getting better with dealing with them Thanks for opening up brother. I too am a combat vet of the recent years with many deployments, suffered a TBI from getting hit with an IED, and I have been diagnosed with PTSD as well, although for some reason mine is very mild. More grumpiness and quick to go to fight mode verses flight mode. And not having the support of a solid home life adds to how much it sucks. I've done some treatment programs and the best I've done so far is with mindfulness sessions and just getting out to spend time alone. But contact me on the side any time if you feel the need for support from someone who truly knows what you're going through. You're not alone, my brother.

Especially at this stage of the game! Yep. Hind sight is always 20/20. But if there's a next time for me, first hint of DARVO, controlling, BPD, OCD, IBS or anything else 3 lettered and I'm high tailing it the other way.
