Way back on Aug.24th I 1st posted about schools in NC and remote learning. I have posted on several occasions updating what I have and am seeing in remote learning. I am not impressed. And I have expressed concern about the simplicity of the lessons and what I see as an environment that does not challenge the kids very much. I said I feared a sizable % of kids were receiving a poor education both in quality and quantity. Now this morning I read that 65% of 1st and 3rd grade students in NC failed midpoint math testing. The expectation is that perhaps 20% will not be promoted to the next grade. And I worry about many of those who may be promoted as they may be just barely making the cut line. A weeks ago their class reviewed that test and not surprisingly a lot of them could not answer the math questions. One of my grandsons was surprised and remarked to me about how poor his classmates were at the answers. Admittedly my postings are based on 1 3rd grade class doing remote learning but I have learned over the decades that concerning schools every grade class does pretty much the same curriculum. So I'm willing to bet they are all getting a dummied down version of studies. I hate to say it but my previously expressed fear that an entire generation of kids is being handicapped by current educational policy seems to be happening, at least here in NC. The posted results of exam grading seems to be bearing out those fears.

Another quick update. Today the body was cremated over a group face time. His ashes were to be shipped to his sister but she is out of the country at the moment. As a result, his ashes will be shipped to us and we will road trip Mr BOC to Oklahoma for the funeral in April. In the meantime, I will keep him in my study as I go through the books to try and piece everything together. Perhaps he can help. I am not making this shit up. Life and truth is often stranger than fiction. If you do have any conversations with him take this word of wisdom from me,..don't take any advice from him.

Welcome to the forum shipwrecked,....There are positive aspects to your situation as well as the negative points. More often than not members here never get to the reason or rational of why their marriages ended up sexless. Your W at least has been honest and stated she is asexual at this point in her life. Therapy has proven to be ineffective in resolving the marriage or sexual issues. What sort of blame did you two direct toward each other and did either of you attempt to address those criticisms? Now it seems you are at the end of your tether and may be considering ending the relationship. That's often a difficult decision even when the hand writing is on the wall. But divorcing does not have to be the end of the world. If you have read much here you have seen that a # of members have divorced and maintained a decent working relationship with their X spouse. It reads like that might be doable for you. Sounds like it might be time for a discussion with your W to see if she feels the same and if the possible parting can be amiable for you both, or if there is a way to continue the relationship with you being able to meet your intimacy needs outside the marriage. Perhaps a don't ask don't tell approach.

What a sh*t storm!!! Just when you might think a polar vortex is just about the worst that can happen something like this pops up. There's no explaining why bad things happen to good people. Fortunately you are the kind of guy that can deal with it. Here's hoping you can sort it all out without BOC taking too big a hit. Bankruptcy isn't so bad. My X's son in law and my oldest son both had to do it. Both of them because of poor decisions and poor money management. Good luck and God Bless.

I changed insurance providers a couple months ago. The company I had been with for 30 yrs. just keep raising rates 5-6% a year and so it became pretty expensive. The new insurer ask me if I had a dog. Yes I answered, a Heinz. He ask, "Is that a large breed"? No I said, "she weighs about 30 lbs., and just so you know, a Heinz is is a dog of 57 varieties".

Spreading responsibility is a dangerous precedent. If Democrats are really that scared of Biden's cognativity, they need to look at that 25th amendment thing they've been kicking around. We have one executive decision maker. We should keep it that way. The worry may not be about Biden but a future president. Rumors flew that a groundless command to nuke anybody would have been slow-walked until cooler heads prevailed. We've heard actual accounts of Soviets that refused to launch counterstrikes against what turned out to be false alarms. It may be fake news but the rumors of diminished capacity in Biden just aren't going away. Time will tell, unless his handlers can do an extraordinary job of hiding what might really be going on. And I believe those Soviet officers were court marshalled and dishonorable discharged. Last I heard (decades ago)they were still alive. Would a similar scenario result in court marshals for US personnel if they took it upon themselves to disobey a direct order from the Commander In Chief ?

I'll leave the engineering specifics up to the engineers. The Space Shuttle design included ceramic tiles so good at inhibiting thermal transfer that if your home were covered with them you could heat it with a candle, and that design is forty years old. Carter was frustrating, in that he allowed the Shah to fall, replaced by a regime that has killed hundreds of thousands and intends to kill millions. After Obama flew $140B cash to Iran, there was a huge increase in terror in the middle east, along with a horrible humanitarian crisis that by all rights historians should name after him. He armed IS/ISIS with weapons from Libya. Goodafi was on our side in the war on terror. After 911, Goodafi dismantled his WMD program. He was no threat to anyone. Years previous, he went to war against his third world basket case neighbor, Chad, and got his ass kicked, so he wasn't even a regional concern. His one downfall was that he was creating a gold backed pan-African currency that would have threatened the Euro and the Federal Reserve Note. We know his weapons went to Islamic terrorists, but nobody has ever said a word about what happened to the gold. If history is even remotely accurate and fair Carter and Obama will go down as the 2 worst Presidents in modern times. And just for the record...I got the gold....Bwahahaha...

Spreading responsibility is a dangerous precedent. If Democrats are really that scared of Biden's cognativity, they need to look at that 25th amendment thing they've been kicking around. We have one to executive decision maker. We should keep it that way. Gotta disagree ....A good example of why single authority can be a bad idea is the special executive authority given to Governors by many legislatures to deal with Covid19. Cuomo being the poster boy of the day. But he isn't by himself. Newson in Calif.is another di*khead who should have his authority removed due to gross negligence. There's also the Governors in Oregon, Washington, New Jersey, and a bunch more who have seized the moment to become dictators. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely I'll toss in one more factoid to bolster my argument. The constitution mandates only the congress can declare war. The founding fathers gave a lot of thought to avoiding hostilities or war being waged by a President. The way it is now it's possible no state of war has been declared, yet the President could authorize the use on nuclear weapons.

It wasn't easy for me to find something Democrats are for that I agree with. But this morning I read a number of Democrats sent China Joe a letter saying the criteria for using nuclear weapons should be more than just the President authorizing the action. I agree. It was suggested the VP or some other high ranking official (my choice--- Chairman of the Joint Chiefs) needs to agree for the order to be valid.

Welcome to the forum rosie.....You don't have to worry too much about getting a bunch of d*ck pictures here. What you will get is the straight skinny on people like yourself who have found themselves in a SM and what they did or didn't do. Generally speaking this is a pretty judgement free zone. You have done some reading and hopefully found something(s) use full. We look forward to hearing your story and thoughts. But if it is 752 pages it might be a while before you get any feed back.

Once I decided I was done I ceased all types of affection toward my W. It didn't take her long to see a lawyer as to how things would shake out for her. There were no apologies from her, no attempts to work out something mutually beneficial or even tolerable. She could have stayed with me if she had wanted to. She wasn't hard to have around other than me wanting to f*ck her pretty often. Clearly the idea of divorce was already in her mind and she acted on it quickly. So you are right. If one is considering divorce it is best to keep in mind your spouse may well be thinking along the same lines.

Prior to my X going rouge on sex we used to enjoy sexy scenes in a movie. Some times she would ask me what I thought about them, which I took to mean she might be a little wet. But post menopausal I don't remember seeing any movies with overtly sex scenes.
