Thank you for the support - I wish we could all go to dinner together.
I am the money bag person - I have torn this house up still looking for it. I doubt it will come up in mediation.
I filed for divorce on June 15 but didn’t have him served until Sept 17 - then he has 45 days to respond then discovery then the holidays then take into account the flood of filings after holidays. The first available mediator was Feb 21. That’s why such a long time.
We have spoken zero words to each other - mediating between the two of us us not advisable for me because of the years of manipulation - I just would rather pay and have it documented.
He is still shady with money - pulling out thousands from ATM - he spent 15k on a dock for the lake house which he assumes he will take in the divorce - took all 4 kids on a family vacation over my birthday ensuring I was completely alone while turning 52.
All this since being served papers.
I don’t think the courts really care.
I just need out.
Whatever it costs.
I will walk away from him and never have to be around him again except the younger 3 weddings and that is 3 times too Many.
I am in a real dark place - some of my friends avoid talking about the divorce and kinda avoid me. I don’t bring it up but if I was at dinner with a friend and I knew her life was up ending - I would inquire - just makes me feel less than that they don’t ask.
I am beating myself up for waiting so long and wasting good years.
In the last 3 years he has ATM withdrawals exceeding 100k
The last 3 years we have owed 40k yearly to IRS due to him selling stocks
He makes 450k per year and our expenses are low. No car payments - my car is 9 years old. He does zero maintenance on the house - our carpet is original and 24 yrs old. I take zero dollars from him - besides being a resident in his house.
We have 2 kids in college but the college fund pays that. Where is this money going? We have one house payment $2k monthly. We do not travel - we have literally not been together to dinner in over 8 yrs. where is this money going?
The bank statements over last three years are a confusing mess of moving money and even some cash counter deposits in the thousands. None of it makes sense.
I’m mad at myself for not knowing all this before looking through Discovery documents.
I totally drank that church koolaide all those years sitting in Bible study being fed the man as head of house BS - basically never questioning the “head” of the house- I raised my kids and did my job while he screwed me in the ass in finances - the ONLY way he was willing to screw me.
Just in a dark place - a cautionary tale for anyone reading this forum thinking you will wait to file.
