Today I have been e-mailing and calling with my lawyer about the rent of the family home. He has been in contact with the landlady's lawyer. It looks like there will be going to be a sort of agreement about terminating the rent. Will still going to cost me about 5000 euro but it is not the maximum they could demand. So that is good. However they expect that both my stbx and myself will sign for an agreement. I foresee problems with that, so I hope my lawyer can convince them that they should accept having only my signature. I hope this will be settled. It does mean that I will probably have to get the empty home clean and ready, a few walls painted and a few damages fixed within 2 weeks.
