On a different thread JMX brought up her personality in regards to the Briggs Myers test. She stated she was an ENFP. I thought about mine which is ESFJ and thought about it in comparison to JMX's. We had 2 in common the E and F. The E not a big deal in contributing towards the SM but the F (feeling) maybe it did. I always cared more about the way my ex felt than I did about the way I felt. ESFJ is known as the Caretaker of the 16 personality types, think Mary effin Poppins, that's me! I would be curious to know what other's on here are for their personality test. In particular how many come up with F.

I am also very much conflict avoidant. Both of those traits seem to be very much tied to my personality type. I don't think that either of those characteristics were a cause of my SM. They did, however, allow it to go on for waaayyyy too long. It took a lot of self sacrifice to finally break. It also took a lot of courage for me to address the issue. Now, it has been addressed in a very dramatic fashion and we wait and see if the changes will stick. So far... not looking very good.

I have taken the Myers Briggs several times in my life with various scores. The most consistent has been INTP, which is pretty much me. The last time I took the test was in a tech writing class in college. Sure enough, almost half the class was INTP, which is pretty typical of the profession.

I am an "F" also.
I have taken the test four times in four different years, and came out as an INFP each time. My wife thinks I am an ISFP but I think the test puts me in the N category because I spend way too much time worrying what other people might be thinking. I am also a conflict avoider, and will do nearly anything to avoid a confrontation.

I'm conflict avoidant too yes definitely contributes towards the length of tolerance.

For most of my younger adult life (career), I was an ENTJ, then fluctuated between ENTJ and ENSJ. Now, I'm solidly an ENSJ.
Myers-Briggs has typically been accurate for me in as far as my professional persona. My non-work persona is more of an extroverted introvert, because I love being around people, public speaking and social/networking events, but then need to recharge in the solitude of my quiet room for a while before being in a similar situation.

INTJ, funny enough....the profile says "clueless about romance" and that finding a compatible partner will be our biggest challenge. Relentless intellectualism, rational thinking above all....
Guess I am partially to blame for this SM....

Z your letters are off. It's N or S and your are leaving out the F or T

I have always known that I am not the best partner.... even worse if I did not select someone as compatible as they could be.... INTJ....not too many understand us.
How much does these personality compatibility issues affect our SM?

Holy Hell - the ENFP relationship section was basically fascinating for me. Yep, it's me. www.16personalities.com/enfp-relationships-datingMy husband is an INTJ and I read somewhere that those two were supposed to be perfectly matched. Or at least perfect opposites? Idk. I guess it doesn't work in my case - but I bet me and Fiery would be a fascinating pair of friends!

I'm a ENFP too JMX. I think its pretty accurate. I have a little reference guide and the N says, "Intuition: People who prefer intuition tend to use their imagination to see new possibilities and insights focusing on the future." and then I add "In BED." I like it.

ISTP the only official full test I've taken back when I was 22. I also occasionally come out as INTJ on the shorter online tests. I've wanted to redo the official long version but never have.

I am INFJ which seems to fit me very well. I tend to want to look after other people and put their needs first (way too much if I am not careful). Apparently we want full on relationships with lots of connection and are not very good at leaving them. (although we are quite good at getting over them once out.)
The funny thing is my wife is also INFJ, although occasionally she has come out INTP. And she is scared shitless of relationships with too much connection. I always said she was an F pretending to be a T.
