I well remember that "I don't want to go home after work" feeling.
Sometimes it would even spill over to sitting outside the house in the car for 10 minutes when I got home to psych myself up to go inside.

An avoidant spouse eventually starts to spread the avoidance throughout the relationship generally, and you get caught up in it too.
You start avoiding them.
You start declining invitations to go out - if it involves trying to talk your avoidant spouse in to going.
You start leaving for work early, and then working back late.
