Well, today's the day, we start couples therapy. We will see how it goes.
I am more nervous now then I was on my wedding day.

Sounds positive! So, when is your next session and were you given any homework?

Sounds positive! So, when is your next session and were you given any homework? We go back Tuesday and we didn't have any homework. The first session was mainly our back story and getting comfortable talking with her. The therapist had no reservations on calling us out in things. She called the W out on a few things and it was absolutely hallarious Overall we left happier with each other then when we went in.

I know you will be just fine, whatever happens along this journey. The outcome will be the outcome. Whichever way it swings. You know you have a safe place here man xxxxx

This is an open question -can therapy ever work if you have to drag your spouse there and you know they really didn't want to be there. Verses a spouse who gets the marriage is in trouble and is willing to try therapy?

Therapy only works if a person uses it. Therapists aren't magicians. If a person goes to therapy and says nothing or talks only about trivia, no change or insight will happen.
If you accompany such a partner to to therapy and you work there, you may change and develop insight. You may realize that your spouse will never be the passionate partner you want. You then may live your life accordingly.
