I am focusing on the kids. It's all about the kids and being thankful for the joy they bring into my life. Tomorrow night, we celebrate with his family. They all know we are heading for divorce. At the last family function (his side) I drank a little too much wine and spilled my situation to the wrong family member!! I am going to be in control tomorrow night and just try to enjoy.
We'll be spending Christmas day with my family at my brother's house. Much better for me!!
I am tired and very unorganized. I am surprised I even got a Christmas card out this year!! I have no clue what I bought and who I bought for. I have never been this unprepared before. Oh well!!! Such is life with a divorce looming and living like nothing is even happening.
I am wishing you all a peaceful holiday. Try and focus on the good in your life and your blessings. I'll be sending positive vibes outl!

If people from his side try to pry then I would keep it simple with a memorized answer for everyone that tells them absolutely nothing.
After my MIL called me on the phone crying about the divorce, all I said to her is that H and I will both be happier, we grew apart and we aren't the first divorce and we won't be the last.
Stay strong and the day will pass!

Tonight the kids are at my folks. First time we haven't had them in months.
Naturally my wife planned a girls night.
Well, at least I get to see the star wars movie tonight. Maybe when I get home I'll fire up the hot tub and have a glass of wine.
Hmm... I started this comment as a gripe. Actually sounds like the evening worked out for the best.

Merry Christmas to you @ggold. Focusing on the kids is the best way to enjoy Christmas. Do not stress the little stuff, perfection takes the fun out of a holiday celebration.
We did not send out Christmas cards this year nor have we sent them out in the prior 9 years. The cards stopped going out when I stopped doing them. By doing them I mean making them, signing them, addressing them and posting them. Each year I hear "We need to get the cards sent out" and I smile knowing that nothing will get started on that goal.
