OK,... I've learned something today, I didn't know there was any other sauce than tomato based when it came to barbecue. So to answer your question, Lexington style. The lines between the two types of true NC BBQ is almost indistinguishable. They are both heavy vinegar. Lexington adds a bit of ketchup to the vinegar based sauce. These days most places that try to do authentic country BBQ do eastern style then serve it with a "BBQ sauce" that could be from anywhere. Because people like sauce these days. That's what lancaster's does if I recall correctly. There's never anything wrong with smoked pork but the North Carolina feud is way overblown. PS - I'll take some South Carolina mustard sauce with mine! Real BBQ = Kansas City BBQ and burnt ends. Nuff said....((drops mic, walks away))

(Catching up on this thread a few days late...)... I even bought a huge box of condoms just to cover my bases... THAT is apparently where you went wrong! (Condoms are not for covering "bases", they are for covering something else...)
