Not even a hot sex reset.
Warning. EO is rambling!
He tried to reset talk me again last night. I, very calmly and grown uply (yes that's a word in my head), was trying to discuss with him how different we are and how we both get frustrated because the other has different expectations within not just our relationship but in life too. That is not that I'm right and he's wrong, or vice versa, just that we're different.
He freaked at first and stormed off slamming doors. Then came back to tell me the weed will stop. On Friday when he runs out. He said we'll go for walks. We'll get bikes and go out together. He also said he's not trying anything I like though. He won't try anything he's never tried before. Rather disappointing. He's absolutely is not going to eat anything vegetarian or vegan. Not even one meal. But he will try to eat less shit. Shit is his staple diet. The sex didn't even come up. He's in cloud cuckoo land. So he expects me to be all happy and excited now that he is going to go to all this effort. He says he loves me. I'm sure he does. But more in a "you always bail me out of the messes I make and don't give me too much hassle" kind of way. He doesn't want the kind of relationship I need. He makes some of the right noises to shut me up. Because that's what I've done the last 17 years (anniversary is 1 Oct. Will not be marking it!).
I told him too how hard I find it hard to talk to him because he either shouts me down, ignores me completely, or twists things to hang blame on me and tries to imply that wanting what I want isn't normal.
Thanks to finding you lot I know it is normal though.
So here we go on another reset trip. How many more of these will I put up with? The end of my tether is getting closer.

Re-set only works when you fall for it and think it's genuine. If you don't think it's genuine then it's just white noise and bullshit. More white noise, more bullshit. - This doesn't read to me one bit like you are buying the bullshit. - So it is highly unlikely to have the desired placating effect on you. - That, of course, raises yet more difficult questions. - Unless your exit strategy is getting real close to do-able status, it might be wise to play along and act placated. At some point, the main battle will have to be engaged. No point in wasting energy and resources on these minor skirmishes. Save your energy and resources for the big battle.

You're right baza. I'm not buying it. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to play along though. Generally speaking if I "act" ok, I start to believe it myself so I don't really want to set those wheels in motion again now. I think exit strategy planning is my new best friend.

But my stronger side is starting to show itself much more lately. I'll get there xxx

Be strong and resolute this next year and save money to put towards your exit and no matter what hold his feet to the fire to change. I lived with my ex 4 months after I told him I wanted a divorce. Time has a way of passing.

Ok if you are not going to be around for your Oct. 1 anniversary, you have 8 days to knock a doable exit plan (or eviction plan) into shape and execute it. That's cutting it close, and tomorrow is Friday. So consult an attorney ASAP.
One thing I wondered, and don't tell me! but how much bud does he have in the house? That's a pretty scary legal liability right there. For you too. If it comes to an eviction, will the bobbies believe you when you say it's his? Make sure your attorney knows about this.
