Have you ever taken a personality test ( for example Myers/Briggs, but there are many others), because I am curious about 2 things; 1) Do you think the test can help you or give you insights about your personal life as well as your work personality?? and 2) Is there one personality type more likely to get stuck in a SM?? Thank you very much Rhapsodee, you gave me the idea with your birth order thread.
I am an ISFP, for any of you that have taken the Myers/Briggs test.
Any other Personality Tests are valid to comment about.
I am a new member so go easy on me.
I am not certain I should not have put this thread under the Humor category, so with that thought, in "Pottermore" I was sorted into Slytherin!

Ravenclaw here, ha ha.
Also, INTP, Sagittarius. Pitta/kapha in the Ayurvedic system. Enneagram is 5 (the Investigator or Observer.)

Now this seems like a good thread to me, and makes sense too. I am an INFJ-t, actually a 100% Introvert. I wonder just how many Introverts there are here or if there are any Extroverts at all in this group?

Nice to meet you, Smartkat!
I also took the Enneagram and I was a primarily a 2 - The Helper.
Numerology I am a '9'. Astrology a Taurus. Chinese zodiac a Rooster.
Also just a thought, maybe more important than our personality is our spouses and how they connect??

There is a thread that was on here before that covered this quite thoroughly, but I cannot recall the title of it or how far back it would have been!

My wife is an IS something or other, and all my energy and exuberance and charisma drive her absolutely bunkers bonkers most of the time. She hates going out, because my inclusive personality traits mean I don't focus on her enough. I'll have to look up my old enneagram test, as it's been years...

I'm INFP/J (Ravenclaw here, also Luke Skywalker or Obi-Wan Kenobi). H is INTJ. He's not a Potterhead, so he's never been sorted, but he's Emporer Palpatine. I feel like our Star Wars personality types are rather telling, though...

ESFJ - the caregiver!
And I gave and gave until I had nothing left to give to a taker!

INFP-creative here but I can pretend to ENFP under the right circumstances.
And my Enneagram type is 8 - the aggressive control freak.
I don't even know WTF to do with all this, but personality typing is fun. I think it tells us more about ourselves and our hopes and dreams than how we relate to others, though - communication is so contextual that we can literally become someone else depending on who's in the room. Maybe that's good, maybe not...

He dominates you for most of the movie but in the end you refuse to submit to his lying and control and in the end your father kills him. You just need to find the fast forward button!

INFJ. Introvert-squared, currently in recovery.
I was administered the M-B when was around 21 years. What it did for me at the time was better help me understand myself, and what made me tick. It also helped let me off the hook. By that I mean it helped me come to understand my needs and preferences and as pop-psychological as it may sound, it help me to learn to love myself and stop trying to "fix" what was "wrong" with me. (By the way, please try to refrain from more than one air-quote within one finite sentence)
I can't speak to whether one type is more prone to SM than another. I can tell you that as a "pleaser", and one who always strove to be whatever the other wanted me to be, to the extent that I lost myself along the way, I stayed in my SM far longer than another "type," (damn it) And my ex and I were far too much alike, so it was like a feedback loop of the most the most egregious kind.
But as the dust is settling, samedeepwater and I get along quite well now. I've really come to like the guy. ;-)

ESTJ. No idea why my husband says I'm a control freak.

What's interesting is a lot of us know what we are. I think that really speaks to how self aware we are of ourselves. If I asked my ex he would have no clue what the MB test even is, let alone what he is. I think we know because we want to be the best that we can be. I could be wrong just my 2 cents.
