A while back, I had a fwb who was very special to me. More a friend then the benefit part. Anyway, we stayed in touch after the benefit part ended. I spoke to her last week.
I found out today she suddenly passed away. I'm heartbroken. I lost a friend that I cannot grieve for. I cannot talk to her daughter (an adult)and tell her what her Mother did for me and what she meant to me.
I have no one to express my sadness to or even a way to pay my respects.
I am just using this board to shout out at the universe that she is in my heart and I will remember her.
Fondly and with love.
Fran, your smile lit my heart. Your touch warmed me, and your laugh brightened my soul.

Thank you for the kind thoughts. - Now one more interesting development concerning this. - Her daughter called me to let me know. (I first found out on FB) We spoke. She said that her mother mentioned me but she wasn't really sure who I was and what our relationship was. Hmmm. I want to be honest with her. I want to tell her that her mother helped me get through a difficult time in my life and helped heal my (in the words of her mother) "body mind and soul". That her mother actually encouraged me to go back to W and try again.

Wondering if anyone knows how to join "groups" here...or how to start one? I would love to join or start a flirting or FWB group.

I'm sure she would like to know how much her mom helped you through a difficult time. Again, I am so sorry for your loss and having to deal with a difficult situation. Wish I had more advice....

You're acknowledgement goes far in easing the pain. I am going to try to find a way. I also think it important for me to try to express what she meant to me. At how special I felt she was. I hope I could do it without hurting her or her memory of her mother. I'd never what to cause her daughter pain.
Anyway- thank you for your kind words and sympathetic ear. It means a lot.

Is there a way to tell her all of the positive things without revealing the type of relationship you had? I'm sure she would like to know how much her mom helped you through a difficult time. First, my mention of sorrow, a grief slow to heal, but it will. I have another vote with Bunny for being honest without disclosing the entire story. Her daughter would really love to hear that her mom helped to heal someone's “Body Mind and Soul.” Your phrase earlier was: I cannot talk to her daughter (an adult)and tell her what her Mother did for me and what she meant to me.Sure you can. Simply maintain the theme of a good friendship that greatly helped you. She does not want to hear that it was physical, this was her mom.

I had hoped to be as open and honest with the daughter as I was with the mother. I believe that you (all) are correct. This may be a time when a lie by omission is not only the kind thing but the correct thing. - Again thank you all for the sound advice.

Your touch warmed me, and your laugh brightened my soul. I'm so sorry for your loss. The fact that you can't grieve openly must really feel terrible. ((hugs))

I wonder if it would help you to write a letter to the daughter telling her all the amazing things about her mother and what she meant to you. Don't send it, just use the writing as a way to process your grief. I don't know why, but even when I know I'm not actually going to send the letter, it helps me to write to a specific person. I'm so sorry for your loss!
