I freely admit I often plagerize "the Bee". Right now it's the greatest source of liberal/eleatist satire I can find. I sometimes steal from "The Onion" and I have even been known to borrow from CNN although it's pretty rare since CNN seldom has anything of value worth repeating.

I freely admit I often plagerize "the Bee". Right now it's the greatest source of liberal/eleatist satire I can find. I sometimes steal from "The Onion" and I have even been known to borrow from CNN although it's pretty rare since CNN seldom has anything of value worth repeating. I looked it up because it seemed such a strong reaction to "Sleepy Joe". It made sense it was the Bee. I thought this was the people's reaction to our current custodian of the throne: www.npr.org/2021/09/30/1041252418/they-voted-for-trump-and-then-for-biden-heres-what-these-swing-voters-think-nowI'm really hoping for some opposition that doesn't try to be like Trump. Including Trump. Can I get someone who is aware that America is not "a Christian nation"? Can I get someone who has spent at least 2 years working in Washington just so he doesn't flounder around for the first two years being led around by neo-con hucksters? Can I get someone who knows where Aleppo or what a Uighur is? (okay, maybe that last one is extra credit) Let's get four years of that guy. I'll accept the recession as the slashing of government spending drains money velocity. I'll put up with the pointless bravado on deliberately ineffective border defense. I'll roll my eyes for four years at the hand wringing about America being uncompetitive and the mass exodus of business being because of tax burden and not rock bottom labor costs. We have three years left of the long, slow slog through the Democratic marsh that sucks at our boots as we leave the croc infested salt water behind. Still sucks, but we know where we've been. Turning around isn't the way forward. Let's get a tiresome, ordinary, laissez faire, out-of-touch conservative to run. Is it so very much to ask? Is there no George HW Bush out there? A right-wing Joe Biden that doesn't mumble word salad so much?

It's going to be a red wave, because Democrats are fixated on things that don't matter to voters, like an imaginary insurrection and voter suppression that just never happens, while ignoring the huge spikes in crime and inflation, both caused directly by liberal policies, which are affecting the quality of everyday life.

Any chance you've seen the lines at polling places in urban neighborhoods? Two hours +? I've never waited that long and I've voted every primary and every general since 1988. 1/2 hour tops. I live in suburbia. That said, we agree. That doesn't matter to many (most?) voters.

Most of what is in this thread is ridiculous. I'm surprised that so many people whose opinions on nonpolitical topics are thoughtful seem to think it's fine when a former president and his followers trample democracy.

Of course, politics start when one man and one woman (or two men, or two women) start living together under one roof ..... {le sigh} .....
but, yeah!
Partisan politics, {shudders}.

The Left is like a Monty Python sketch. When your numbers are in the toilet, and the world is burning from your ineptitude by design, the solution is to focus on imaginary issues. "Uh, you already have voter rights." "No we don't."

The Electoral College selects the president based on voter's preference. The problem with the USA government is big corporations and rich people donate so much money to people running for office, when elected, the big money owns the politicians. Your vote really doesn't count for much and politicians will say things to get your vote that they can't or won't deliver.
We do not have a country by the people and for the people. OK we get some perks but those big money donations probably run most of the government.
I do not understand the drama about no masks. OK, they help a little bit. And the no-VAXes are selfish.
