More than 500 of the 356,000 officers represented by the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) have died from COVID-19 since the pandemic began, according to information released by the prominent police union.
According to Axios, significant numbers of police officers across the country are refusing the COVID-19 vaccine, ignoring mandates and leaning on their unions to back them up.
Already, departments are seeing the transmission of COVID-19 among unvaccinated officers as the Delta variant spreads. In Denver, where 57 percent of the Denver Police Protective Association aren’t vaccinated, the FOP is staying true to its members’ wishes. Although FOP leadership recommends its members get vaccinated, endorsing the COVID-19 vaccine as safe and effective, executive director Jim Pasco told Axios the FOP won’t mandate the shot. [/i]
SO, officers will wear a bullet resistant vest to hopefully save their life but won't get vaccinated. Crazy!!!

I am not a fan of conspiracy theory's in general, but this article and the explanation's it puts forth gives me sufficient pause to think in terms of it just might be believable. Leaked Grant Proposal Confirms Chinese/American Scientists Planned to Create Novel Virus...by Caroline Douney, in the National Review As in much of the "breaking news" reporting on Covid19 this article cherry picks fragments of the grant proposal to insinuate some nefarious agenda. But it even notes that the grant was never awarded. It did not publish from the proposal as to why the scientists wanted to create an "average" virus strain. Would such a strain make research more consistent with repeatable results? Could possible vaccines be evaluated quickly? I especially liked the reference to Dr. Faucci that tried to imply that he lied about funding of virus research. If US government money was spent on creating a virus then it would have been authorized by congress and there is no need to ask the CDC.

Why are there fervent claims of efficacy? www.statnews.com/2021/08/25/ivermectin-for-covid-19-abundance-of-hype-dearth-of-evidence/a trial by Ahmed Elgazzar from Benha University in Egypt. In this trial of patients with severe Covid-19, one group received ivermectin while the other, the control group, received hydroxychloroquine (people in this group should have received a placebo). According to the researchers, there was a 90% reduction in deaths in the ivermectin group, a degree of effectiveness strikingly at odds with most other studies of ivermectin and considerably better than even FDA-approved therapies for Covid-19.
A British medical student, Jack Lawrence, was assigned to evaluate the Elgazzar paper for a course and encountered a potpourri of apparent plagiarism and data fabrication. The Elgazzar paper had not been formally published in a medical journal, but had appeared instead on a preprint website called Research Square. Upon learning of Lawrence’s analysis, Research Square promptly retracted the paper.
Gideon Meyerowitz-Katz, an Australian chronic disease epidemiologist who also reviewed the Elgazzar data, found faults similar to Lawrence. Researchers often summarize large bodies of literature by statistically synthesizing trials in what are called meta-analyses. “If you remove this one study from the scientific literature,” he told The Guardian “most meta-analyses that have found positive results would have their conclusions entirely reversed.”Most, if not all, positive reports are based on using a single study out of Egypt known to include fabricated (made up) data.

BREAKING NEWS OUT OF EUROPE... Austrian brothel offering free entry and special sessions if vaccinated on site...males as young as 14 can enter if accompanied by an adult.... COVID - Stop the spread! Choose syphilis instead! I'd rather take my chances with syphilis. Syphilis is much easier to deal with. One dose of penicillin used to do the trick. Hopefully it still does....

My county is still having a lot of new Covid cases. The medical community is being helped by outside personnel. Some good news is the new cases dropped to 39% of the all time high for the state but local county new cases per 24 hours is still very high. The state only has a 50% vaccination rate. My county is 50% vaccinated and some rural counties have a 27% vaccination rate. I can understand the 27% vaccination rate when a county only has 500-600 people in the whole county. I know some of the lower vaccination rate counties are pro trump and think they are somehow superior genetically so they are mostly (in their minds) immune from covid. Plus with so few personal contacts, they should not be be exposed to covid virus.
My son works in a shop with several other guys. Some are of the opinion that covid is a hokes. One guy was told he had covid but the guy rejected the idea. Long story short. Three guys are dead. All refused to get vaccinated. One guy only had a couple of years for his company retirement with very good retirement benefits.
I suppose wearing a T-shirt with a picture of a 9MM pistol and a saying F covid isn't much protection from the deadly virus.

I always figured having someone you know die from COVID would inspire some to see the light. Any such effect at the shop? One guy being close to retirement suggests he was older, and at greater risk. I'd say "too bad" but his decision to work his whole life and opt out of "golden years" makes everyone else's retirement that much more solvent, so... yeah, guys. It's a hoax. Don't get the jab. It has the Soros sterility chip in it or something. That said, I could see someday a CRISPR vector being included in a jab of the future and wiping out huge swaths of our population without a shot fired if we have a president like this one not balancing risk with his dicta.

The upside of the pandemic. Yesterday we had the grandkids so we went to a Christmas tree decoration display. Afterwards we went to lunch at a nearby diner (Eat-n-Park). All of the employees were wearing masks and I like that. They are not breathing, sneezing or coughing their germs on my food.
The downside is I cannot see going to the salad bar buffet ever again. Damn people (customers) got the manners of barnyard animals. Touching stuff to see if it is hot, sticking their faces around the shields to get closer look.

Just 14 new corona cases in my county, 338 in the whole state in the last 24 hours. Maybe the hospital will get a rest and not be over worked soon.
What is Omicon going to do?
(Dutch state broadcaster NOS reported that in one sample of passengers from two quarantined flights out of South Africa, nearly 14% tested positive for some version of the coronavirus.)
Both Pfizer and Moderna have said that if in fact the variant is more resistant to their vaccines than past strains, they could develop and ship a modified vaccine within about 100 days.

The vaccines are less impressive all the time. States with high vaccine rates seem to have as much trouble as those with low vaccine rates. This O, Omicron, variant, could be a good game changer. It's reportedly highly contagious and as if yet no deaths have been linked to it. It's more likely to give us herd immunity than any current vaccine. Beyond that, therapeutics are our only hope.

Yet every week I see so many unvaccinated people die and so few vaccinated ones go to the mortuary. Week in, week out. That’s not data which is easy to misrepresent in an unregulated public domain. That’s body bags.
