I am sitting in my backyard with the sliding glass door closed, and will be attempting to use Siri to dictate this story, so I hope it comes out not too garbled.
I went out for drinks last night with a couple of girlfriends… All along good, except that he decided to text me while I was in the process of getting my toenails done to ask if I had any time to stop by home before picking up our kid from my mom's house after I had drinks.
Now by way of background, my mom has been on the East Coast for the last week with my brother and sister-in-law… So I haven't seen her in a few weeks.
The text I get from H says he wants to f my brains out. I reply that I don't know what time I'm going to finish… I know that's a very wishy-washy answer; I was hoping to avoid a lot of crazy behavior and an extremely long string of text messages on his part.
Well, my plan completely fell apart… I went to my mom's house, sat down with her, and we've caught up over the last two weeks.
My husband normally works on Saturday mornings, so I figured anytime after about 10 PM he would be asleep… Now, I do admit that it got pretty late while I was catching up with my mom; I've stayed out late many, many times in the past, and it should be no surprise to anybody that sometimes I come home late.
I look at my phone while I'm talking to my mom, and it is after midnight… I begin getting text messages from home that say, "I want [kid] home. You bringing him home soon?"
My mom and I keep talking for a couple of more minutes, but decided to pack up and send me home anyway… While i'm in the process of getting home, I get a private Facebook message from my husband, saying, "I want [kid] home. Do I have to come pick him up?"
I get home just after 1 AM, and he is gone. Evidently, he hopped in his car and started to drive north. I respond to his text and say " I was driving; we are home".
I wake up the teenager who has passed out in the passenger seat, get him upstairs and to bed, then get myself to bed… After about 20 minutes, I hear a car pull up in Front of the driveway, and a few minutes later, I hear some stuff being moved around in the kitchen.
Has been comes to bed and falls asleep… I woke up the next morning knowing that I have to be somewhere at 8:45 AM because I am helping out. (Business organization I help out with once per month)
Husband passes me in the hallway without a word as we are both getting ready. My son, who is downstairs, asks me if I want to watch a particular TV show with him while I'm getting ready, so I agree we put it on.
Has been then comes downstairs, and immediately asks our son to watch a different TV show. Son agrees.
As I'm heading out the door, I told him both goodbye, and husband asks me, "How do I look?" He's wearing gym clothes and is lounging on the couch. I say, "You look relaxed" and he proceeds to roll his eyes and sighs heavily as he shakes his head.
ETA: I also, on my way out the door, noticed a bottle of wine on the counter with the wind stopper in it… My husband's mom was an alcoholic, and the entire length of our marriage, he has giving me grief about drinking socially, up until the past two years… He know himself uses wine to sleep after he's been upset at night . I get my car to leave and noticed that his car has partially blocked me in… No problem! I drive a teeny tiny car, so I just put on my back up camera and maneuver out.
I am sure there is a lot to pick a part in my behavior, but I am kind of at the point of not giving two shits anymore.
