20 years ago today, I got married.
This morning, I went before the judge and am now officially un-married.
It's done. I'm officially a divorcee now.
Had that song "going to the chapel and gonna get married" caught in my head. Seems that the same is true on "going to the courthouse and gonna get un-married".
There was no white horse-drawn carriage (like at the wedding) that brought me to the courthouse, though. Just a cold-ass marble bench to sit on.

I didn't want to share this with you because thought it might be too soon, but on our first anniversary post-divorce, my ex actually texted me (surprised the HELL out of me because we just didn't talk at all). He texted, "Happy UN-Anniversary." I actually laughed at it and felt thankful he sent it for some weird reason. I replied, "And many happy returns!" He sent an "lol." That was it. I know he meant it in lightheartedness. It was all good. We never acknowledged it again and I haven't even remembered it since, going about with my usual business on that day every year.

Of course the first everything can be hard, but then you signed your divorce papers on the day of your anniversary so there are a lot of emotions swirling. |

shamwow, congratulations! I know it was a hard decision, but it was the right one. Now you are able to focus on yourself, your kids, and your social life. Don't waste any time. Get on Plenty of fish, Ok Cupid & Tinder as soon as possible. You will find a lot of interest. Please keep us updated on your life.
