shamwow , I can certainly understand. I didn't drink but I certainly ate entirely too much. Oh, I didn't have to face down just the demon Budweiser, but also the Krispy Kreme monster. Got up to 274 pounds at one point before getting back to 199 (those handfuls of pills helped a lot there). Then I popped back up to about 255 and now hover somewhere between 203 and 208 on a healthy diet. Now, granted, on Sunday I took the first opportunity I had in months and binge watched 10 hours of Netflix and ate an entire container of Blue Bell ice cream (that amazing one they have which combines cookie dough and cookies and cream). But tonight, it's back to Brussels sprouts (thanks lyn for the recipe) and chicken.

I am partial to mint chocolate chip.

I recently binge watched Netflix, a show called Friends From College, it was fun thoughtless entertainment, just a recommendation also I'm curious about lyn 's recipe so pass it on when you get a chance.

Pretty simple recipe. Preheat oven to 350 Get a couple pounds of brussel sprouts. Wash them. Cut the little head thing off the bottom. Cut in half. Wash. Get a mixing bowl, glob some olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, garlic in there. Stir it up. Dunk them little babies in that mix. Oil up a baking sheet and spread them out. Bake for about 12 minutes and they look yummy Now, I like to throw some different seasonings on different parts of the pan. I'll also chunk diced jalapenos all over the place (I'm in Texas after all). But they are good for me and better to snack on that an entire tub of Blue Bell.

I've hauled ass up and down the Texas beaches in my buddy's bike with a sidecar. Of course he was mixing whiskey and ambien at the time so it had some, uh, bonus excitement. I am looking forward to running amuck globally but for the next 5 years will stick in my own backyard until my kids are flown the coop. There will be time for more international travel later, but I only get one crack with them... This is my only regret about having kids. I just wanna get an E bike, a back pack and some skates and explore the globe. Youngest is 9. 7 years maybe? Probably more like 9 years then off i go! Fuck. I also need space for my bongos and hula hoop. They're what I'll buy along with the skates to celebrate the end!

This is it bballgirl😊 Well you did give me the instructions in my preferred manner. Directions like "throw a glob of oil" and "bake them until they look yummy" is more the way I cook. I hate it when a recipe reads like science class. Throw the shit in a bowl / oven and cook it till it looks tasty.... Perfect!

T-Plus-23: Divorce Finalized T-Minus-7: Shammy can't wait for his lady to visit again...time to fly the friendly skies So, yesterday was the first time in almost a week since I'd seen my kids. I ain't gonna lie. It was pretty rough not seeing them for that long. I'm both hoping that gets easier as it becomes the "routine", and scared that it actually does. We had our Thursday dinner last night. My son made burgers which was a step up from his original plan of chicken nuggets. I encourage them to invite friends over. They are teens, and a quiet dinner of "how was school today" sounds like pure hell from that perspective. Instead, having some friends over lets us all joke, laugh, and have fun. Because I don't think they will be at my place enough to amass piles of laundry, I have decided to pay them $2 per person they serve dinner too (plan, cook, serve, clean up). I, of course, purchase all the ingredients. Last night I paid them in fresh, crisp, never circulated $2 bills (ask for your bank to order them...doesn't cost anything to get a withdraw in them). This weekend, we are going to New Braunfels, TX where the three of us will spend the weekend tubing down the river. We will also go to a wildlife safari park we've been to, but I'll let my daughter drive through it again. Both are a lot of fun, and a good weekend that doesn't break the bank. This past week, I've struggled to keep myself busy. My lady has her kids this week, but next week, we will both be able to spend some more time Skype-dating "in the open" (cooking, watching TV together, chatting, etc...). I'm looking forward to that, but even more, I'm looking forward to jumping on a plane in 7 days to actually SEE her. She is about to start a 10 day stretch where she won't see her kids as we get our visitation schedules in sync. Having someone else to share the times you don't have the kids together makes a big difference in keeping things on an even keel I think. I think the kids and I will do a road trip to the panhandle of Florida on Labor Day. I'll let my 16 year old girl drive and that should get her up to somewhere around 6000 miles she has put on the car with me in the past year. It will also add 3 more states and bring her total to 9 that she has driven through. Easy memories to forge. I'm thinking of cutting my cable. I can get an internet connection for around $40 and just stream things. Comcast is charging me $177/month for whatever the hell I signed up for. And I find myself mainly watching Netflix since I moved. Especially since I don't watch sports, I don't see much value in what I'm getting. Anyone else cut the cord? It seems to be a great way to save some cash. Not much else going on other than that. Had a good dinner with my business partner on Wednesday. With my change of marital status and the accompanying free time, there are some prospects I have to earn some extra money (kind of depleted a lot during the divorce). It actually also opens new horizons that I don't need to get "buy in" from my ex on. That does make things easier in many ways. Did I mention that I'm getting on a big jet plane in 7 days to see my lady?

It was maybe 6 years old and I was able to buy one with all the latest bells and whistles for half the price of the old one. It's what put the cord cutting idea in my head in the first place. Not sure I could eliminate TV from my diet, but I do find myself watching a lot less of it than before. More fun to pick up my guitar and play Rocksmith. I actually learn a skill that way.

Yes, I was watching less and less anyway but now I've got back into reading and just doing other stuff and I feel happier for it. All the best

When I left, I took no tv. I don't miss it. I tracked the number of times I missed it. I think the third time was this spring (like 15 months after moving). I watch DVDs & just do stuff IRL more. Netflix is the shit, for real. All the cool kids say so.

I've never had a tv since I moved out of my parents house as a teenager. Whenever I go visit someone who has one I'm always blown away at the amount of time and mental energy it sucks away and at how many commercials you have to watch even after paying all that money for cable. Streaming is the way to go. You still get to enjoy the content you like, but you have to make a conscious decision to watch; no mindlessly turning on the TV just to see what's there.
