I'm a little further inland. Anyone heard of the 1000 Islands region? So that's where the dressing comes from....

Soldiers from Alaska come here for their winter weather training. There's a nearby Army base...

How far into the Great White North? It does share a border with the US. Not too far. Montana in hour in a half or so. Just renewed passports again, so free to travel. Ah, I'm only 20 minutes from the Canadian border but on the Ontario end.

I'm open to scheduling/hosting a few "official" ILIASM online "virtual coffee dates".
Here are my quick thoughts:
1) We'd have to pick a mutually agreeable system. I propose Skype is ubiquitous and widely supported, so if you are interested in joining one of our "virtual coffee dates", may as well download Skype, enroll, and test it out. (Reminder: if you are trying to keep your ILIASM participation anonymous, set up your Skype acct from an email address with the correct level of anonymity for your purposes, because your "Skype identity" -- at a minimum your Skype login and probably the email you enrolled with -- will be visible to others on the call.)
If there are objections to using Skype and you propose something better, PM me your suggestion.
2) I'd schedule these at different times of the day and different days of the week so as to allow folks on different schedules and different timezones to hopefully have at least one they could attend. But before we schedule many of them, we'd do a trial run so we could figure it out.
3) I think Skype would support any of the following: - Text chat - Audio conference - Video conference
Am I correct in assuming that a video "virtual coffee dates" is of most interest?
If anyone considers themselves a well-experienced Skype user and would be willing to discuss other technical details, PM me, and we'll try to make this as smooth as we can for all interested parties.
4) If we make this a regular thing, I may ask for a few members to co-host these, possibly by region.
Thoughts?

There was a Skype call?? I missed it?? :-( A couple weeks ago, started up by the folks who went to FL, so those who called in could "meet" too. I think we are going to try for more in the future. ggold, there was a Skype call as part of a few of us meeting in St. Pete in Florida for those who couldn't be there. It turned out to be so much fun, and inspiring, that I thought it would be great to do another Skype call, maybe even monthly, just for the sake of that alone. I'm looking at the calendar for a Saturday night to set one up in the next few weeks. This time with other time zones in mind for others, not just the east coast. Maybe do different time zones on different months. Work our way around the world! Lol. I'll keep everyone posted.

I'd be up for a 'virtual coffee date'. Thoughts I wouldn't know Skype if it bit me but I'm sure I could get it sorted out
Yes, different time zones would be best. Something that would fall in an evening for those who work. You won't be able to suit everyone, that's inevitable. There is one evening a week that I can't do but it's pointless saying what it is. If I can't participate, I'll be there in spirit
I'd go with video conference and assume that that would be preferred.
Thank you

Thoughts? As I PM'd to you, I set up the Florida Skype call and with just a few hiccups, it went fairly well. Skype works well (over my favourite, Google Hangouts) because you can initiate a video call with just one person, then post a link that allows anyone to join, whether they have a Skype account or not. You just need the app on whatever device you want to use. You can even delete the app after the call, the ultimate in discretion for those who need it. A click on that link, whether you're on a computer, laptop, android, iPhone or iPad, got you into the video call. I posted the link in the forum thread for the Florida gettogether and we were joined by people from all over. Even some who had SO's in the other room and just listened in on ear buds like they were just listening to music. Extra points went to the member who used postit notes and pantomime to join in! Lol. And extra, extra points go to one member in particular...who shall not be named...who blessed everyone with a "moonshot"! Maybe video isn't the way to go? Ha! I definitely would want more than just one event, perhaps monthly, especially to spread out different times zones for different people thruout the world. One month at a more convienent time for those in Europe, another for the AS/NZ pacific rim, another for USA/Canadian West coast, another for USA Midwest, then USA/Canadian East coast, etc. Anyone could join, it would just be a better time of day for those regions. Petruskha joined from NZ last time, being a very, very early riser. Lol. But with that, we also missed Tamara68 in Western Europe because it was just too late in the evening for her. I'd like to do another run at it at the end of this month or early beginning of June, then as Admin suggested, hand it off to another, and if enough volunteer, have it come back round to me in a few months. Anyone elses suggestions?
