So I practiced and thought about all I would say - not blaming, etc, I had anticipated having the TALK after Easter but because of some business matters (my W and I work at the same company together), I had to bring it up tonight.
I told her "We were not working out as a couple" getting ready to preface the introduction of my TALK.
She said give me the courtesy of being Honest. I took a deep breathe and mustered all the courage I could scrounge up.
"I am not in Love with you any more".
Done deal. I can move out whenever I want. I said I would start seeing other people she said "None of my Business anymore".
I cannot believe it. Very "matter of fact" and absolutely zero drama, other than she said she would limit me seeing the children once every two weeks - I did not engage. She also said she would never foregive me for walking out and that I would self-destruct on my own without her. I did not engage. She said it very calmly without drama - just as a matter of fact.
We even laughed a little in the conversation - She said she cannot wait to see what ridiculous choices I will have for future girlfriends and probably find them comical.
So tomorrow I begin looking at apartments and will be moving out ASAP probably a good 15 miles or so away.
Her main concern was that it was clear it was MY decision, not hers, and that I was the one that would not work at the marriage.
She said, "You dont love me anymore so how can this marriage expect to work ever?"
Then we spent the rest of the next hour talking about business projects.
I cannot believe, I was all freaking out and it was so simple and quick and non-dramatic.
That is that. I guess I get the ILIASM record for having the most banal drama-free TALK about ending a marriage ever.
I feel so relieved and yes . . . happy. It is like a big load got lifted off my chest or weight off my back.
Time to move forward to FREEDOM.
