Once many moons ago when I was dating my wife we were in a restaurant and an attractive young woman was sitting across the room with her back to me. She was wearing well fitting low cut jeans and a tight short shirt that revealed a little midriff.
Normally with this configuration I'd expect to see the top of a thong or a set of eagles wings (tramp stamp). But this time, it was the stretched out waist band of an apparently old pair of beige Granny Panties. I didn't know my wife that well at the time, but bad judgement got the best of me. I had to point it out to her.
I thought it might be the female version of the urban youth deal where they make sure their skivvies are hanging out above their pulled down trousers. But my wife explained that those were "Granny Panties". That's where I first heard that word.
Now I find a way to weave it into at least one conversation every day.
