Smartkat, You are the only other female I've ever (not) met who has had this experience : / Jeez what a thing to feel in common. Did you avoid the underwear aisles too? I almost couldn't read a sex scene in a book for I felt nearly jealous of the characters! There are more of us who've gone through this, Callisto. I too stopped undressing and dressing in front of him, and locked the bathroom door when taking a shower. This was before I moved into my own room, but I was so despondent that he never noticed me, even when I had a new hairstyle, that I never let him see me without clothes again. I started to think of him more as a brother (and not a nice one). |

I couldn't drive past a billboard with a female face on it without developing a sick, lonely feeling in the pit of my stomach. It was doubly bad if the ad had a couple in it, and triply bad if they were smiling at each other. |

My hub has always had a beard. It suits him. Even though I don't mind beards, I'd like to experience the novelty of a cleanly shaved face. As for my appearance, Hub will ask me "Is that what you're wearing?". If I say yes, he shrugs his shoulder and says "Okay." Being a pleaser, it was a big step for me to not go back into the closet and change into something I know he likes. Another big step for me was cutting my hair. My hair is wavy, but fine and thin. If it's long it is a fuzzy mess. Short, I can have a trendy cut that is flattering. He has never let go of this. He told me that he married a woman with long hair, not a woman with short hair. In my mind I said "I married a man that promised to love me." What if an AP insisted that the lady/gentleman dress in a style that she/he is not entirely comfortable? What should they do? I have a clean shaven face. One reason was because of my 20 years in the military. I think I would look bad with facial hair. Not having it does help me look way younger than I am, which I like a lot.
I grew up in the long hair days of the 70s. When I was in junior high, my hair was just a little below my shoulders. I thought I looked pretty cool. (70s slang).
Now my wife hates it when my hair gets long and my bangs are long and my hair touches my neck and hangs over my ears. When she complains, I just smile. And when I do get it cut, I cut it just short enough that it will annoy her in about a month.
She tells me that she likes me better in my short military hairstyle. Like you, in my mind, I said "And I like to have hot, passionate sex."

My wife doesn't show any interest in my naked body. If I'm in the shower and she is in the bathroom, she will immediately leave. If I'm getting ready for work in my underwear, she will ask me to hurry up and finish so she can come in the bathroom. One day I took a pic of me in nothing but my underwear and sent it to her at work. She got very angry with me and asked me to never do that again.
Boy how far have we come since we first met and she initiated sex with me on our first date.

My wife is jealous of the woman who cuts my hair. So I go see her on a regular basis and I like the job she does. It also nice that we flirt and have fun while she cuts my hair. I started keeping myself nice not for my spouse but for my own well being. If things were not going to change in my relationship, then I wanted to be ready to meet someone new.
She did not notice at first but now she takes notice. I plan on updating my wardrobe and told her she can come with me.
Ladies, please let your sexiness out. It does not matter if you're overweight, skinny, etc.... Be yourself and that is the most sexiest thing. What man does not like high heels? I like my wife to wear high heels during sex sometimes. It's fun looking up and seeing her feet in the shoes. You just have to be careful you don't get kicked lol.

Yes, all of this. If the TV was on and there was a makeout scene, sometimes I had to leave the room. I went through all of that and back out again. With the encouragement of a friend, I stopped hiding my body. I have changed for the better in the past two years. Now, I sleep in a cami and pretty panties. I found very pretty bras that dont have that "full support" look. I undress in front of him and talk to him while I stand naked. He noticed my personal grooming and quickly turned away. I could tell by the look on his face that he found it disturbing. It's actually kind of interesting that he won't look at me. I'm wearing more dresses, lower cut tops, tighter jeans and leggings. You dont have to leave your ILIASM shithole to start embracing your feminine beauty. Its scary at first, but once you get the hang of it it is fun! From the time I walk in the door until I am naked is under 2 minutes. I will lay on the couch naked and if I am cold have a blanket on me. I hate clothes. I could totally be a nudest. (Except for where I would have to keep my credit cards - totally changing the meaning of "swiping my card") If we have guests - I'll but on shorts. Reluctantly. I'll add a shirt if they are easily scared. I sleep naked and always have.  |

My H liked my hair long. The longer the better. He would say his ideal was "barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen". I thought it was a joke but now I am looking back at everything differently. Once in awhile he would buy me clothing and it always looked like something my grandmother would wear. Strangest thing. I wonder now if he was ever looking for a lover or just a good mother, wife and homemaker. Like @smartkat and callisto, undressing in front of my H started to feel...wrong. I also would wear clothing to bed. Too hot natured for flannel pjs but I was one that liked to sleep pretty bare so a t-shirt and pajama shorts was still a lot! |

Once in awhile he would buy me clothing and it always looked like something my grandmother would wear. Strangest thing. I wonder now if he was ever looking for a lover or just a good mother, wife and homemaker. Like @smartkat and callisto , undressing in front of my H started to feel...wrong. I also would wear clothing to bed. Too hot natured for flannel pjs but I was one that liked to sleep pretty bare so a t-shirt and pajama shorts was still a lot! I continued to sleep naked, or just a pajama top unbuttoned, next to my STBX as a strong, " not my problem" testimony. What did I get from it? Her going to bed earlier. Her staying up later, with headphones and a book in her hand. Her staying up in her recliner on her Ipad. Her building a fortress of pillows between us. Her inviting the kids onto our bed, longer and longer into the night hours. |
