Isthis it I have a hidden disability which is unlikely to kill me but is in the pain in the bum territory. As I read your post my mind went to "what if it was normal for people listed their disabilities and things they do not like instead of all the positive / attractive things, in their dating profile on places like Match.com. Things like "knees wore out from working too hard, carbs (commonly called a beer) gut, CPAP, sudden urges to use the toilet, mild cataract condition, loss of hearing and etc. How many people might respond to our individual profile. It would take more than those things to put a quality woman off you Handy . And that cataract thing could have it’s advantages 😉. For me how do you think “gets knackered at the drop of a hat” would go down?

Isthisit “gets knackered at the drop of a hat” would go down? The first thing that came to my mind was afternoon naps and.........., well you know what I might be implying . My second thought was maybe Isthisit could use a CPAP device. That is how some CPAP users think. It is the same mental process as little kiids have. If the kid has a hammer then s/he thinks a lot of things need hammering. In adult auto mechanics with a fancy-dancy expensive diagnostic piece of equipment, almost every car needs to be diagnosed by the expensive tool. I forgot to mention my support/compression socks. The plus side is I can easily ride my bike 15 miles or 25 miles if my butt didn't go to sleep. On a 25 miler I take several breaks, problem solved. Do I still qualify for the imaginary dating pool even if I am 106 years old? JK: I am not 106 YET. Back to “gets knackered at the drop of a hat.” Well for me I can keep going and the “gets knackered at the drop of a hat” sounds like my W. I usually stay awake and keep going but when I do get in bed, I am out like a defective light bulb. Thunder rarely wakes me up. So maybe our individual traits would make a decent / good combination.

Well Handy I wish CPAP would help with my problem, but alas it would be no use. Unfortunately there is not any treatment, I just have to navigate around the ongoing fatigue. I have learned to live with it and it doesn’t stop me doing much, but I usually have to take a different path to get there. I hope it’s okay to say, but I seriously doubt that I have much in common with your wife. You however? Sure we would make a compatible match I reckon 😉.

Isthisit I have learned to live with it and it doesn’t stop me doing much,.....
That attitude is what I like and try to practice. I like that trait in a person, WTG.
Some days I write down several things I would like to accomplish on that day. It helps me to get out of the dumps (negativity and depression like feelings) and at least start a project or something that needs to be accomplished.
For me fatigue or not being motivated is sometimes the reason I put off doing things. The mini-list helps me most of the time. If I stick to my mini-list I am OK. What screws up the works is getting side tracked. Today I used the vacuum cleaner I haven't used for 5+ years to vacuum (hoover up in some country's jargon) some cat litter. Half way through the process the vacuum's bag was getting full. I also noticed a wheel didn't turn so I looked up the parts on the Internet and local parts availability. No parts were available locally. So 45 minuets later I looked at enough places on the Internet and ordered the parts. My point is a 5 minuet job turned into a 50 minuet job because the original chore had elements that side tracked me.
Thanks for your complimentary words.

So many better things to be doing at 4AM. Maybe I should get dressed and go finish a project in the workshop.

Nice joints and brass corners. WTG!. Still looking for brass knobs on drawers. I found some at $10 apiece, I am holding out for the $2 range.
