She gave me the paper to give him. I plan on doing it as soon as I can get organized and a few bags packed in case he gets abusive. My friend is going to let me stay with her until I find a place to live. Just wanted to check in..=_= Sister warmways

I suggest giving him the papers in a public place after you are when you are packed and out. Do not tell him your new residence. Do not allow friends to tell him. Please also google to get advice on how to leave a potentially abusive partner. I know someone whose mom was stabbed to death in front of her kids when she tried to leave her abusive husband. Better safe than sorry.

Honestly, I would pick a public place where there is known to be police near by. Or if your state allows it, have a sheriff server the papers.

Honestly, I would pick a public place where there is known to be police near by. Or if your state allows it, have a sheriff server the papers. I had my papers served by the Sheriff to my W. at her workplace, a day after we had our 'conversation" at McDonalds.
