Hopefully a lot of you noticed my tongue embedded in my cheek when I wrote that. I was inspired by bballgirl and her remarks about a gyno exam. But there are men who find it stimulating, even to going to by anal plugs. To each his own.

I guess we men could get a prostate exam I used to go into my doctor twice a month for a prostate exam. My co-payment was only $20. Getting similar treatment on Craigslist would have cost over $100. My doctor was way better looking, too. She got wise after my fourth or fifth visit.

I'm a hugger. I found that some people give the most wonderful hugs. They put their heart into it and lift your spirits.

Deinitely yoga or Tai Chi helps to keep me centered but play dates with nature or random adventures with friends are my go to reenergizers. There is something awe inspiring about hiking hidden trails or reaching the peak of a mountain to see the vastness and beauty that simply exists without need nor want. I also find that performing a random act of kindness brings me joy and seeing its impact on a stranger lifts my spirit. You never know what hardship others face and despite all that may seem wrong in my little bubble I know that overall, life could be so much worse.

There is a lady that I get to see every week and she loves to give me the warmest hugs that last at least 15 - 40 seconds. She says I know how to hug very well and shw will seek me out for that hug. Really brightens my day.

I guess we men could get a prostate exam No way dude....My all time worst prostate exam was given to me by a female doctor. She was about 5'6'', 240lbs. and she had a way better mustache than me. She literally picked me up off the floor and I was 1/2 way across the exam table before I got away from her. Ha ha ha. Sorry! Maybe she was punishing you in place of someone else...

I've been thinking about ways to still feel energized and connected despite being touch starved and I've come up with some things. I'm interested if others have ways in which they can feel connection without outsourcing. Here's my list so far: --self pleasure --showers, baths --noticing the sun on bare skin --feeling the wind on your skin --shampoo from the hair stylist --acupuncture and sometimes she gives a neck massage --hugging myself sometimes usually when going to bed for the night --putting body lotion on my skin --hug my pillow with another pillow behind me --pet my dog and cats --visualize a wonderful scene with a bright light surrounding my body until I feel the energy (technique from Creative Visualzation) by Shakti Gawain --tense and relax each muscle --pedi/mani More ideas? I'm sure I'm forgetting so many. Get hurt and go to PT. good one i did that already but didn't intentionally hurt myself. I was looking forward to my 3x weekly PT appointments. One of the therapists was dreamy- got a lot of attention and leg massages

Boy did they rough me up though. I got a few brutal massages on my forearm. Would have given me a boner if I was a masochist.

I also find that performing a random act of kindness brings me joy and seeing its impact on a stranger lifts my spirit. Touching someone's heart through acts of kindness... love it! I've mentioned something similar in other posts: I think "acts of service" are a great way to a) feel fulfilled for giving back, b) getting a few hours out from under the shade of an unhappy marital situation, c) developing a better sense of "self" and self-worth, both of which is invaluable whether you choose to stay and work on the marriage or need the courage/strength to end it and move on.

warmways : great idea for a thread! You mention "showers, baths". For me a scent adds something to the tactile experience: using a cucumber or "sea-breeze" scented body wash on my back brush during a shower adds something special to the touch of the brush. If given the opportunity to use a soaker tub, I love to use a loofa with Satsuma Body Polish: it has a refreshing orange scent and a bit of exfoliating pumice. Very nice!
