I wouldn't say letting go of what I couldn't change made me happy, in fact, it made me very sad. It was just the right thing to do.

That is so true. With acceptance came a sense of peace. I no longer wanted my husband sexually either so I sort of understood his point of view and realized he loved me the best he could but I deserved better. I really didn't want to outsource anymore however I have no regrets because it helped me to realize what normal sex should look like as well as just the shared conversations, texts, etc. that lead up to it. In the end realizing that PEOPLE DON''T CHANGE and that not only had to do with the sex issues but also the control and gambling issues was like a light switch turned on. I spent too many years trying to get him to change. What happened in the end was I no longer wanted him and I knew that I would never change in those regards so there was only one choice for me in order to be happy and not have to outsource.

Part of the Serenity Prayer, isn't it? That would be a life's work, IMHO. No easy feat. But inspiring no less.
