Ha! I can't watch romantic movies or see some of the precious young newlyweds around us. It's torture. Heartwrenching really....I'm becoming bitter. This isn't me! I got upset seeing two elderly people walking and holding hands the other day!!! I am bitter but trying to keep it in check. Hard to do. |

My AP said at the time we met on EP exactly what you're saying, that she was close to becoming bitter and she hoped she could stop it. She could have if she had acted. She had no kids, was financially self sufficient, and had a guy who was crazy over her. She supposedly loved this guy as much back. And she wouldn't leave her marriage. And by the time I ended it, it was too late. I could hear it in her voice. She lost the fight. She's lost. Don't end up like her. Act before you lose the fight too. Because it's hard to get back on the horse once you've fallen like that. |

Thanks for the chuckle with the original article, JMX. That's some hilarious material there.  I've had some experience working for VERY well-heeled folks on the East Coast and yes, they really can be like that. Oh the pretense... Off to read the rest of the thread... |

Although I found the announcement to be pretentious I doubt that either will ever be a member here. I think two low libido people have found each other and can share their love of books. Good for them.

Romantic movies, young newlyweds or old couples holding hands does not bother me. Those things give me hope that some people have a great life filled with romance and sex. What drives my blood pressure up are the Viagra and other pecker pill commercials. Here you go old guy, pop this pill and your stud fantasies will be fullfilled. Unless you are in an SM in which case you will have a 4 hour erection you will not be able to whack down. |
