I'd already posted in a reply in the happy music forum that Men Without Hats has always been one of my favorites. I'm also partial to "The The." But probably my all time favorite is from a local college band, that I'm not even sure is still around any more:
Alabama Thunder Pussy. (yes, google it)
Now that's a band you probably couldn't take home to mother.
