Taking into account my wife's new income and the fact that it's much closer to mine, I reran the alimony formula on my state's court system website. I'm working from estimates because I don't actually see my wife's paystub since everything is digital now. After we get our taxes filed this spring, I'll see the actual numbers. So far though, it looks like her income is just high enough to eliminate alimony. I would still have to pay her for an independent health insurance policy when she lost access to mine but the spousal maintenance is negligible now. I may actually be able to afford my freedom next year.

Her health scare we had is now resolved completely and no longer a concern. If I can save up enough for the legal retainer then I could get things started this summer. Finally some good news after a lifetime of disappointment.

Bits of me are dying but others are growing. One step at a time.
