Let's be real guys! Any child raised in a conflictual home, myself included, can tell you what the fights were about (or what they were ostensibly about), how often they occurred, and how they felt during the fighting. The tension in the home is palpable when parents are in conflict with each other. Whether fights occur in harsh whispers after bedtime or are loud and violent in the living room, children know they are happening. Didn’t you know when you were a kid? (I ask because it is very likely that if you’re having a lot of marital conflict now, you learned this pattern in your family of origin.)
