I would love to change my FB status from married to whatever other options are available to me. Anything other than "married" -- even though it's technically, legally true -- will suffice.
Bit impetuous, given I haven't prepped the separation agreement yet?

How about 'Married but open to offers'? Failing that, I believe they have 'It's complicated'

I've thought the same thing! There's this urge to do something that makes this feel "real". I ultimately decided to not change it - more to avoid any uncomfortable explanations than anything else.

Literally, is it an option?

Just remove the married part. I don't think you actually have to claim anything. It will not show up in anyone's feed either - I don't think. It's just removing that info from your profile. It would at least be a satisfactory start!

I simply took my relationship status off Fakebook. You don't HAVE to show one at all.

Agree with the others, you can just remove your relationship status. I did that with mine, so much easier to not have it there! =)

Yeah. Guess I just don't want to field the questions quite ye. And know Roommate is not ready (although that's his problem, not mine).
Will let you know if I do it!

I did it! I changed it to...
"---"
AKA, blank, blank, blankity blank.
Which is a very accurate description of the relationship: ---
Also can be described as: dud, null, void, dead.

See! No one is going to notice unless they suspect a problem and go digging

FB even confirmed that the update would not show in the feed. ((Wipes perspiration off forehead.))
