Congratulations with your victory! I can imagine how hard it was to listen to all the insults and lies. Now time to recover and make a fresh start. Cheers to you!

Sounds so incredibly difficult, but that you got a fair hearing and a fair outcome. What a creep for trying to impugn your character!
If he had put half as much energy into the marriage as he has trying to obstruct its dissolution, you might have had a happier marriage. That he would stoop so low, however, might make you very happy he is (or soon will be) in your rear view mirror.
Be strong. Don't let his hurtful words get to you. You (and the rest of the world) know they are not true.
I hope things go easier for you now.
((Big hugs!!))

*Update*
Last night was actually really good. I am the resident stage manager for a local circus here in town and we had our final dress rehearsal last night (We open our show tonight). It was sheer, fabulous madness and the perfect distraction from a nasty morning. I love stage managing - from obsessing over every detail of prop movement to wrangling children backstage to making sure there will be water backstage during performance. It's a world where I get to be in complete control and where everyone appreciates what I'm doing. Pretty much the opposite of being in court. So I came home tired, but relaxed, happy and with a better perspective of the whole court experience.
Thank you all for your supportive comments. You make me smile!

Shakespeare-themed circus? Made me think of Shakespeare's play and Titania's line when waking up from her enchantment:
My Oberon! what visions have I seen! Methought I was enamour'd of an ass.

Exactly! We're doing it in conjunction with the Shakespeare folio that has just arrived in town. Our "Bottom" is an incredibly gifted unicyclist and clown, and our Titania is a lovely aerialist. It's a pretty loose interpretation of the play, but enough to give the idea. I love the fairies in our show - the director has chosen to have them be a little scary and creepy so the group contortion act is very cool. (We also have little kid fairies for "cute factor" - they mostly ride unicycles and run around being adorable.)

It's a world where I get to be in complete control and where everyone appreciates what I'm doing. So glad to hear you are putting the bad morning behind you. Sounds like you are doing the exact right thing: engaging in your life; not ignoring the pain he caused but working through it; focusing on what there is in your life that you like and love. Just a side note: You explained how he was desperately trying to impugn your capabilities as a wife and mother. The mom is usually the "glue person" keeping everything running in the household by taking on the lion's share of the inglorious jobs: ensuring you have enough stuff in the fridge for the kids' lunches tomorrow; who's got to get where by when; and helping spread positive energy in the midst of mild chaos. Some might say this is like running a circus. IN FACT: you run a circus professionally... and yet your husband was trying to impugn your character for being a bad housewife! That you would be unable to perform your household role is about a implausible as him claiming a professional race car driver didn't know how to drive, a professional chef didn't know how to cook, or a professional athlete doesn't know how to stay in shape. SMH!

SMH! Yes, he picked out the few weeks when I was overwhelmed with things to complain about, basically ignoring years of me doing everything. It took me 15 years to get him to one chore every week - he would roll the trash cans to the curb on trash day. That is literally the only thing he did every week. Everything else was on me because he was the "provider." He's never given me any credit for the hours of driving kids around, waiting on plumbers, shopping, cleaning, yard work AND three part time jobs, one of which was my own business. I know, surely I could have done more, right? Maybe kissed his ass while he sat on the couch watching sports while I helped our son with his homework? Sorry, feeling a bit salty this morning after yesterday.

My nephew was in a play at the fringe festival here in Orlando last week. It was a Star Wars spoof, and he played Chewbacca. Lots of fun!
Sounds like Cirque d' LA!

MR - so glad you got the "win" and really glad that, despite being tired, you got out and did what you like to - - - and I'm damn jealous I can't catch this hip-sounding Shakespeare Circus deal - - what a lovely, complex, incongruent mix - - it sounds FANTASTIC. Keep doing what you do and to hell with him. That is all.

Awesome job on keeping your composure. I suspect the lawyer was trying to provoke a reaction so she could make you look guilty of what they claim you to be.
