Boldness in the Era of #MeToo | Dr. Robert Glover

for me, this is not about asking a woman out but applies to many interactions. For instance if a woman has cat treats in her shopping basket I might say "if my cat knew where you lived, it might run away from my house." I worry that the woman will actually think that I want to know where she lives so I can do a drive-by and hope to see her.

Yesterday a woman had several packages of ice cream in her shopping cart and I said " Nice party fixings" and got one of those derogatory looks similar to "mind your own business dude." I have even been criticized for holding the door open by a very few women. Most say thank you.

I will admit to trying to avoid negative reactions to a point of being overly cautious.
