Last night I had the weirdest dream. She kicked ne out and I was in my new, cosy, tiny apartment. The rest of the dream was about buying a bed! Did I want a single or double? What style? The town was filled with bed shops, naturally, so the choice was endless. I could not decide so ebded up sleeping on the floor. So, waking me wonders. When you move out what type of bed would you get, or is that the least of your worries. For the cultured, "I sleep in a bed shaped like a racing car, how about you?" ah The Simpsons, how I miss you

I didn't move out, she did, but she took the bedroom furniture. That was OK with me because it was hers to begin with. So I went looking for something to sleep on. Fortunately for me as I looked on Craigslist I found a 6 piece suite with a queen size bed and it was quite reasonably priced. So I went to see it. It was in a cherry finish and showed almost no wear. It went home with me that afternoon.

I kept my king sized bed. Doesn’t bother me at all to sleep alone in it. I’m fully prepared should I have the opportunity for a partner to sleep with me. I think you should keep that in mind when bed shopping. Allow for the chance that you may want someone to sleep with you in that bed down the road.

Never buy new furniture is my dictum. The older stuff is better. Estate sales, Craigslist and eBay are our friends. However I do get new mattresses and if something is upholstered I usually get it reupholstered. There's no telling what's hiding in the foam! 🤔😏

So, waking me wonders. When you move out what type of bed would you get, or is that the least of your worries. One that doesn’t squeak and is solid enough that the headboard won’t smack the wall. I couldn’t put the neighbors through that. Though it _would_ be a badge of honor to break a bed... “I didn’t do it. Nobody saw me. You can’t prove a thing!” 😉

For the cultured, "I sleep in a bed shaped like a racing car, how about you?" ah The Simpsons, how I miss you Funny how dreams have ways of speaking to us? I'm no 'dream interpreter' but here's a thought: Your dream shows your need to have a huge weight lifted off of you, by being set free, even if that means her kicking you out, as you continue to be the victim. That you would be content in a tiny apartment, that materialism is worth much less than the value of new cozy freedom! Back to" better to live alone in an empty house, than together in a house, with an empty spouse!" Even an empty floor is more cozy than rejection! For the record - I was more concerned about having furniture and rooms for all my teens! I kept the master bedroom furniture. A queen sized bed. Bought all new complete 'bed in a bag sets', painted all the furniture white, bought new brushed nickel hardware, attached hooks, and a strap, in the right places, and....just the first night of sharing my bed with my woman was....well, "what I dreamed of since my teen years!! And it keeps improving!!" (I took the old and made it new, in more ways than one!!)

I have never been a possessions person. I worked out the last time I had a single bed was 45 years ago. But I would love a Captain's bed
