So this morning I got back a positive Covid test result. Feeling pretty lousy and having trouble breathing after walking short distances (ie the bathroom). Chest pain too. I find it interesting to note that when I was married and had to have surgery, my ex had my mom pick me up form the hospital rather than get me. ballofconfusion brought me to the hospital and has been waiting for four hours in the parking garage for me - and she will wait as long as it takes. Why? Because we love the fuck out of each other. Talk about a night and day difference. That being said, my vitals are good and likley I will be sent home in a few hours. So I guess it's ironic. BOC and I traveled across the county every two weeks to see each other for two and a half years. Now we are being ordered to stay in our bedroom for two weeks by medical professionals. #LovingIt For those of you who say "everything is fine except the sex," ask yourself this: How your spouse would fare on the Covid Test?

I'm sorry about your diagnosis but glad that you're not in worse shape.. Yes covid is a reality check for all of us. Or should be. I'm glad you and ball of confusion are taking care of each other.
I will say, my husband and I love each other plenty to take care of each other non sexually. Just don't ask us to laugh at the same jokes, vote the same or to have sex!

Yeah, when I was married and had a blood clot on my lung, my ex did not come and visit me, instead I had platonic friends from church (old men) come and spend time with me.
One of my tenants is moving out and my woman is already geared up and volunteering to help me clean/prepare the house for the next tennant. Things my ex never would have dreamed of. I can already speculate how different her approach would be to me ending up in the hospital!
Thanks for sharing, how different things can be with another person!
Question.. has BOC been tested? I'm guessing she would want to stay and take care of you? That's what I would do if my woman gets covid. At our age and situations there are few people left, in our lives to take care of us.
Speedy recovery, stay in touch and welcome to the herd immunity!!

shamwow I am wishing you a speedy recovery. As for your question - Yes I can count on my wife to care for me. She is a retired NP and goes into nurse mode at the drop of a hat. I have learned that if she says "You need to get that checked" to go and make the appointment.

I had heard rumors of this, greatcoastal, as well as patients that had been cleared re-testing later as positive. Not only bad for achieving herd immunity, but also for people that had a rough battle through it. I wonder what this bodes for effectiveness of a vaccine, which I believe is based on trying to create the antibody resistance. I thought it was notable the caution they had for younger people who are being cavalier about catching it, because they may may become more susceptible as they age.

Now we are being ordered to stay in our bedroom for two weeks by medical professionals. #LovingIt For those of you who say "everything is fine except the sex," ask yourself this: How your spouse would fare on the Covid Test? A study out of Singapore indicates a combo of Vitamins D and B12 and Magnesium attenuates the immune system so the lungs don't get quite so flooded. Maybe pick some up? BOC can take some for prevention. The studies that talk about getting it twice? That's COMMON. But the second time you catch it is usually far less severe. Studies with macaque monkeys showed their second exposure two weeks later resulted in a short duration fever. No other symptoms. So yes, they were COVID positive again but it was nothing by comparison. If they shake it off that fast, that's a good indication that if they are contagious, they won't have time to infect many more. Herd immunity is still a real phenomenon. Like the flu vaccine, it's quite possible the vaccine will not prevent COVID, but it may well prime your immune system to knock it down faster. I'm watching with interest and hope.
