Tomorrow my church will do a drive thru communion. We have a canopy for exiting out of one's vehicle when the weather is inclement and it will be repurposed for communion. You drive thru and the pastor hands you a wafer and wine and blesses them. And those of us who need it can get a washable/reusable cloth mask sown together by the "quilting" committee, complete with instructions to iron it after washing. A freebie along with a wafer and a shot of wine. I picked up a mask today. Pretty nice. It even has a pocket inside so if you want to add additional filtration material there is a place for it.

It's good that church activity is starting up. Our state will re-open in a week. I bought filter sheets. Now I need to learn how to sew and make some cloth masks.

Great idea. Our technophobic priest has finally started online services. He looks like a trapped hampster but kudos for hin overcoming his fears The pastors in my denomination(Lutheran) here in NC put together a joint statement as to whether the prohibition of the practice of our faith was unconstitutional. Also many individual pastors wrote to the Governor asking simply to be shown the same consideration as many commercial businesses that were allowed to open. Other denominations did the same or similar. Faced with so many objections to the forced lockdown the Governor opened worship provided churches could meet social distancing guidelines. It was no problem for us. We also implemented a sanitizing regimen. It will soon be a month since we resumed services and we have had no cases of Codid19. Perhaps it's time for the members to apply a bit of pressure on your priest to step up and demand what should be your right to practice your faith as long as you take all the necessary step to protect yourselves and the community. EDIT: We made use of parts of this facility utilization plan to prepare to reopen our church. In addition we use a fogger between services to do a quick sanitizing on the Sanctuary. We can fog our 7,000 sqft Sanctuary in under 5 minutes. Cost of the fogger including shipping and a 2yr. warranty plan $454.00. The sanitizing concentrate is about $17 /gal.... 8oz of concentrate dilutes to make 1 gallon of sanitizer hpps.//faithconnector.s3amazonaws.com

If I may ask, is this LCMS or ELCA? worksforme2 Fair warning... I grew up in the LCMS. I've changed though.. Neither, our denomination is the North American Lutheran Church (NALC). In philosophy the NALC is closer to the LCMS. My church used to be ELCA but left when the ELCA choose to embrace a very liberal mindset.

Yes, ordination of LGBTQ people has split lots of churches. Personal, I'm all for it but it's a tough issue for others.

I like the idea of the fogger! To be honest, I am furious at the churches in Britain. They have shown zero leadership, guidance or support. The only time I saw bishops on tv was when they queued up to bash Dominic Cummings for his stupid quarentine busting. I do admire the Buddhists of Thailand who are providing free food for the hungry through this. And the dirty old men who are funding the food banks as the go go bars are closed. Well done, those perverts!
