During the very cold nights (-25F), I saw my bedroom clock-thermometer at 59F. The "Make you sweat" stuff dries me out.
When the outside temperature is -25F it is a big shock to go from 72F to -25F, so leaving it a bit cool inside the house makes sense.

Cool. I hate warm bedrooms.

Cool air, warm bed. I could have a heated mattress pad fight it out with the air conditioning.

I prefer a cool pillow, and more blankets if needed. A moot point really, as I sleep in a mostly unheated basement. The furnace and ductwork is there, which adds a bit of passive heating. This time of year is perfect. A couple of light blankets and I'm good to go.
Funny thing is our house is the typical 4-bedroom, center hall colonial. Two of those bedrooms are now unoccupied as the boys have left the nest, but I still feel strange taking over one of "their" rooms!
