On Saturday, Ms enna and I attended the 50th Wedding Anniversary of my Brother.
This follows hot on the heels of my eldest Brother who celebrated 50 years of his deal in September last year.
I'd regard these two marriages as big successes.
Then there's me !!
Theoretically, I'd have made 40 years in February just gone but for a couple of things that went awry.
#1 - that I left in October 2009 which put a bit of a hole in my chances of overtaking either of my two Brothers marital records
#2 - that my ex missus passed away in mid 2015 which really put the kybosh on any record attempt.
Anyhoo, after lunch, speeches and all out come the cameras and assorted group shots are organised. This is, as you know, akin to trying to herd cats.
The happy couple.
The happy couple and their kids (3)
The happy couple and their kids and spouses and grandkids (11)
The happy couple and their kids and spouses and grandkids and great grandkids (3)
Then, the three Brothers.
Then, the 3 Brothers and spouses (Ms enna has been a bit gunshy about these sort of set ups as she is big on protocols and 'doing the right thing' and is hanging back a little)
"Where's enna ?" says my middle Brother.
"Yes. Where's enna ?" they all chirp ... and we both step up into the shot.
Click....click click click ....
Into posterity the assorted images go.
Footnote -My eldest Brother is the family historian, and tells me that he has not been able to find an "official" case of anyone in the family tree getting divorced (other than me) for a couple of centuries although there is something that looks a bit dodgy that went on in the early 1800's.
And I am pretty sure that my paternal great grandfather was 'more or less' divorced without it being official.
