These are called pakoras, Essentially this is a chickpea flour batter that is thicker than pancake batter, it is seasoned with savoury spices, you can put in your favorite vegetables such as perhaps spinach or potatoes have to be thinly sliced and then they're fried. These are my favorite and it's going to be a bad bad eating day for me Then there's also the snow that is coming down, and other reason I'm so going to blow this town Amen

How about a couple of your favorite recipes? The picture indicates something similar to deep fat frying. Are there some minimal oil fried recipes?
OK I see the recipe!
I have never seen chickpea flour in the store. I have made hummus and put chickpeas on salads.

Dry Roasted Chickpeas or Dry Chickpeas can be ground to make flour - and thence forward, There are a few "baked pakora" recipes' also on you tube - I'd recommend adding about 1/2 tsp of "Baking Soda" because these are so much better fluffier than flat

Best Bet is to find an Indian store - buy the smallest amount - these are yummy You could also buy some from an Indian restaurant/ grocery store's also sell them. Just so you know what you're getting into :-)

Javba .... buy some from an Indian restaurant/ grocery store's...Well, I do live 50 miles from an Indian Reservation but I suppose that is the wrong type of Indian you had in mind. In reality, no Asian Indian stores around here. But there is an Organic food store that is new. Maybe when the next stage coach comes to town I can ask the guy riding shot gun if he ever saw an Asian Indian store in some of the other territories he rides through.
Reality for me is the next town east or north are both 50 miles away and they are even smaller.
There is always Amazon on the Internet.
