Find out which attorney your STBX has hired. When you go attorney shopping that is something your attorney will need to know. If they don't tell you that they are familiar with this attorney, then ask. What attorney your STBX has is going to change your attorneys whole approach. Buy another phone, a new number and a new computer, get a new email address keep it all private. Find out about "abandonment " laws in your state. Leaving the house for 30 days is considered abandonment, and you loose your name from the title. Your therapist/psychologist should be a good reference for attorneys. Most attorneys give a free consultation. Go to 3 or 4. With each visit you will have questions answered and learn new questions. By the time you see attorney no.4 deciding which attorney is best will be easier. Once you have had a consultation with an attorney that attorney cannot represent your spouse it's called a "breach of trust". Look for a Divorce Recovery group in your town. They can recommend attorneys.

So, sitting here on a Sunday afternoon. Just curious what (if any) steps you have taken this weekend.

Don't lawyers charge double on weekends like plumbers?

Don't lawyers charge double on weekends like plumbers? Probably triple. But there are a number of things suggested that can be done regardless of seeing an attorney.
