I've mentioned that my therapist supports ACT therapy. There is a book specifically for adopting ACT theory for couples called ACT With Love. I'm not sure I agree 100% with everything here but in general I like the concepts. So here are some pages on the choices couples have when they are having problems. (I think that my actions over the past year do not fit into any of these categories which shows that life isn't as black and white as the author pretends, but the book may still be helpful for some.) www.amazon.com/ACT-Love-Struggling-Differences-Relationship/dp/1572246227
Option 4 is not in the preview of the book but the author feels that staying and doing nothing will inevitably make things worse than they already are.

@shynjdude I think with you it was option 4, but for you it went up instead of down. Which is to say, you are an outlier. I can see all the things that make it worse, cheat, drink, addiction, porn, avoidance, debt, gambling etc. Basically destructive behavior that provides distraction while calling attention in a negative way tothe underlying relationship issues I've mentioned that my therapist supports ACT therapy. It is pretty much the same suggestions you see in here all the time (bar the cheating option, which doesn't get a run) and as such is pretty straight forward and sensible.
My only quibble with it (a very minor one) is that "leaving" is put at option #1. Really, "leaving" is the last option, not the first.
