H and I separated almost 3 months ago. I’m in a new home and I’m living my life the way *I* want to live it. It’s like I’m rediscovering myself again. I mentioned in a different post that one of the things I always wanted to do was own a kayak. So I bought one. And I finally had a chance to take it out on the lake yesterday. It feels damn good to get back to doing the things I love. I don’t know why I stopped myself from doing them all these years just because of my unhappy marriage but that’s over now. And it feels good.  |

And that will be the (elevated) base from which you launch the next chapter of your life. That reminds me of something ballofconfusion an I discussed a year ago. She said that she wanted to become the person she was before 25 years of SM beat her down. Essentially return to BOC 1.0. My opinion differed. I knew Shammy 1.0 contained the seeds that got me into Shammy 2.0. Rather than return to Shammy 1.0 my goal was to build a new Shammy 3.0, taking the good of Shammy 1.0,the good of Shammy 2.0 (and there was some there too), and the aspirations of the man I wanted Shammy to be. BOC agreed, and now neither of us are trying to recapture the past. We are actively anf consciously building new selves. Or as you said, starting from a much higher base than before. I suspect @choosinghappy is doing the same and applaud her efforts. Like you I think they will be successful. |

A tale of an adventurous aquatic journey in the Appalacions, complete with some chromazonely challenged locals and their amusing lifestyles. But whereas I just thought it, Brother solodriver has said it. |

I was thinking of "Deliverance" but I didn't like the video from the movie for just that very reason, so I ran across this and thought this was funnier and better. Imagine that you're paddling by and in the woods is Kermit and Steve playing "Dueling Banjoes" |
