Healthy, active and full time employed 75 year old male living with "a roommate who cooks" instead of a wife--tons of hobbies and a great dog to keep my sanity but jeez I miss feeling wanted by something other than a rescued pit bull! At what age does one just give it up and say "thats the way it is at your age"?

Never - age is just a number. If someone does not provide a service for you then seek it elsewhere. At this stage of the game, what do you have to lose? And that's if you get caught!

I agree with the never sentiment!
The way one might go about things might change, but the need? I can see how it would always be there. Wishing you the best as you explore your needs/options.

Hi, and welcome.
You choose your own age to say that. Listen, I’ve been out of my SM for almost 3-Years, and I’m still alone. I’ve not even had one date, and I’m 12-Years younger than you. I’ve recently taken up dancing, and no one has asked me to dance yet, and there certainly isn’t anyone there that I’d be interested in. I go with a few new female friends, and we have fun doing our own thing, so there is no guarantee that leaving a SM will bring you those needs you are deprived of, especially at an older age. There are those who have found someone after their SM, but I believe they are the exception, not the rule, when you are over 60.
I’m sorry. I served a 25-year sentence, and it was absolutely punishing. I’m still recovering from the damage it caused me. At least you can express your frustration here with people who know what it’s like.

Well Brother jim44444 , I am only doing the mail run sporadically now days, so my income stream has fallen, so perhaps the dog could start contributing to the household finances in the manner you suggest. As long as he gets paid cash, and not in dog biscuits.

In that age category, the women outnumber the men by a wide margin. You might want to remind your wife of that fact.

I don't mean to be mean to your wife but... if she values her marriage I would advise her to get back into sex and make you happy . If she doesn't want to, there are plenty of women who would be all over you. life is too short for no sex, if you ask me. might send her to a Dr. for a checkup, too.

"Everybody needs something that wiggles its butt when you get home!" She is my "wiggler" and is a Pit Mix with more heart than any two other dogs I've ever owned. My roommate (spouse) did not have pets when she grew up so "Happy" has to stay outside since her majesty won't abide a house dog. Course, I'm rationalizing all that fresh air is good for me since Happy and I have to visit a lot and go for walks to "sniff for strangers" which she apparently must know given how excited when we come to a new post or brick mailbox. Not sure I could go on without my dog.....

Your wife makes you keep your perfectly good dog outside!?
Sorry, but time to get a new wife!

Thus far, it is NOT reading like you are prepared to put the marriage on the line.
Nor does it seem that you have appropriate legal advice about how a divorce would shake out for you, or an exit strategy under construction, or a support network behind you.
In short, you don't seem to have any alternative to your present situation.
Therefore, it would seem that your situation is going to remain as it is.
Could a case be made for you to seek appropriate legal advice about how a divorce would shake out for you, develop an exit strategy, shore up your support network etc ??
In short, develop a theoretical alternative plan to staying in your situation ?

Not sure I could go on without my dog..... I love dogs. I don't like it that your dog is made to stay outside. It's your house too! Your wife's inflexible attitude about your beloved pet does not give me hope that she will start having sex with you. I think it's great that you want to have a sex life, and I hope you get one. I would definitely see how a divorce would shake out for you. If she doesn't want the dog around and she won't take care of YOUR important needs either, what is the point of your marriage?
