My STBX thinks everything is a god damn joke ,, right from the compliments to the sex.
My feeling is its a defence mechanism he gets Uncomfy and a joke covers it all up.
We happened to be in the same room last night and 'Greys Anatomy' was on the TV... Woman was saying "help me Dr I have not had sex in 14 months ..please have sex with me..my husband will not touch me"
I see him look at me as I look intently at the screen smiling ,, he clears off out the room...
I am always grateful when he experiences others pains in this area ,,all be it an actress .

I think we might all agree that part of the problem in a sexless marriage is that it's hard to talk about the topic? As in, it's hard because one or both can't or don't know how to address the issue, or flat out refuses to. I really believe that if my spouse and I had addressed this issue early on, we'd have either, 1. solved it, or 2. ended the marriage much sooner.

I can imagine the discomfort and am so glad it wasn't me and my Roommate in the room during Greys.

That is there way of staying in control. A " manipulative" controller . They manipulate the situation, by avoidance, denial, and blame.

Can you describe some of this behavior? I'm curious how it aligns with W's. She responds to any kind of proposition as if I'm making a bad joke. (Meanwhile, more subtle suggestions and innuendo get the "I didn't hear anything" reaction.)
