So - I get up this morning around 5AM and my wife is sitting in front of the computer. Highly irregular.
She shows a bunch of yesterday's mail. Evidently one of her dadmonster's "flying messenger monkeys" (as they call them over on her message board) had reinstated his subscription to his church bulletin. Since my wife is POA, all his mail is routed here, and anything sent directly to the nursing facility is re-routed here as well.
This particular messenger monkey, we'll him Dhead, hasn't had contact with my wife's immediate family since the early 70's. These people were famous for using her dad as an ATM: Graduation, please send money! Birthday party, please send money! Need new shoes for the kids, please send money - and the worst one: they invited him to a wedding, then later un-invited him because "too many people responded and we're short on space, so please just send money!" ..And he always did. He is sort of simple and they know it.
So I say to her: Next move will be that Dhead is going for the tithing envelopes, and will likely offer to "deliver the envelopes to the church." The church of Dhead.
Funny thing is, my wife's dadmonster HAS NO MONEY - the State has his money! There is nothing left for anyone. So she drafted a cease and desist letter to the church. halle-fuckin-lujah!
She was in a severely agitated state though - as any communication with or about her dadmonster can put her.
So why do I post in this section?
Because I went to comfort her. Hugs, skin on skin contact, bare shoulder caress, and kisses. After that and 2 cups of coffee she went up to make a try at sleep.
Huge thing for me. We haven't touched like that in years - been limited to just quick pecks goodnight. Also it helps to know that my presence, for once, was a contribution to calm, rather than the opposite.
Baby step - but HUGE for me.
Not getting my head all in the clouds though - but HUGE.
