I've got an appointment Tuesday with an attorney and I'm looking for apartments and have a place to stay with a friend until I findan apt.
Gathering all the pertinent information for attorney and starting to pack.
I will tell him next week.

This is big news! I'm happy for you to advocate for yourself.
Divorce is not really ever "happy" news but becoming brave enough to own your own choices in life IS.

My 3 cents added value - when choosing an apartment and budgeting in general - consider living BELOW your means a little bit or as much as possible.
Given all the hard work and energy ahead it is an added bonus if your monthly expenses do not cause any further stress.
