The first bit, finding the door, is pretty easy.
The next bit, opening it safely, is somewhat harder and requires all due preparation.
Then, there is stepping through it, and that one is the biggy.
That choice is entirely on you.

You are not obliged to open the door, that is entirely your choice, nor are you obliged to step through it.
Leaving the door firmly shut is just as valid a choice.

Whichever choice you make will have consequences, and you will own them.
