It's easy to romanticize the past once we are out of it, but no, I haven't and wouldn't. I figure an ex is an ex for a reason and move forward.

Clarification. I'm simply curious. I read an article and it talked about sex with an ex and how common it is and listed many reasons to why. So, I am curious and asking you all How common it is? News to me. I think it depends on "when" --- or how long after? It's no secret this is one of those "biggest fears" stuff I deal with in my marriage, but I have even come to a good place with that - if my husband left me to have sex with his ex, have at it buddy! I trust my husband's character to be one that would not roll like that, or if he wanted to, he would have the decency of telling me first. But, I suppose more shady-type creatures might do it secretly, behind their mate's back? My husband's ex-girlfriend of three years (the woman he was with shortly after his divorce) wanted a "secret friendship" (behind my back, keep it on the down low, only talk when I am not around) with him but he showed me her email, ignored it and then deleted/blocked her from his life. She probably would have secret sex with an ex, no doubt about that.

So, I am curious and asking you all I would imagine that this crowd would be atypical from most divorcees. Those here who divorce do so because there is no (or not enough) sex. "Regular" divorces, especially those that burn hot would seem to lend themselves more to this type of thing. If my sex life (Siberia in January is balmy in comparison) is any indication, I just can't see either of us wanting anything to do with each other in that way once out. I know there are some exceptions here, but I would think that would be the biggest issue. If they didn't want to fuck us when married, why would they when divorced?

Once a long time ago I had met with my ex and she said that she was feeling tempted to have sex with me, but she had overcome that desire and it never happened again. At that time we had been divorced for 8 years.

I had sex with my first ex-husband, but I wasn't seeing anyone else. He also was not a refuser and pursued me for years. I'm a one man woman, and if I'd been in a relationship with someone else, I wouldn't have done it. I'm loyal and faithful to the one I love.

My X and I had been separated just over a yr. and divorced right around 3 months I think. We have remained friends. During this time I did not have any steady or committed relationship with anyone else. I had just taken her for her 1st motorcycle ride and when we got back out of nowhere she announced "you are going to get lucky". Over the 13 months we have been divorced we have had sex a 3 times. But about 3 weeks ago she told me she has no desire to have sex with me or anyone ever again. Had I been in a monogamous or committed relationship with someone else I would not have had sex with my X.

Almost 40 years ago, I cheated with exes when I was in a commited relationships. The sex in the committed relationship was bad. My ex was a better lover, just not a good person to be in a committed relationship with. WHen I cheated, I was consumed with guilt, so stopped doing that. I married a guy who was a good provider, responsible, etc., but was not a good lover, and later became a refuser. Years later, I'm now in a committed relationship with great guy who's also a great lover who greatly enjoys having sex with me..

If they didn't want to fuck us when married, why would they when divorced? Yes, and also that! From what I've read, the marriages in the Sex With An Ex category did not end due to sexlessness, but because of other factors.
